Shyamala aunthy šŸ‘šŸ¼ A bang on post once again... JA is not complete without ur post 😳

I have to admit that I was feeling a bit bored yday watching the epi...

1. Loved the bidai scene... It was nothing more n nothing less... A heart touching scene... Great job all...

2. Jodha refuses to go despite being called n gave reasoning as well to jalal. Way to go...šŸ‘ ... I'm glad we got this character. Most of the serial I came across have newly married bahu usually being maham n trying to please everyone even though it's against her will...no for a change I'm impress... I only had one complain here, why they did not show us maham anga n jodha scene wer jodha refuses to come... That would be šŸ‘ I guess thiis is the first time someone refuses n made jalal the emperors to wait as well...

3. The praying scene was good... But guys are we having singing competition in the show... I love the song but it was kind of long... N then again when jodha was received in Agra, another song... I would prefer short songs ...n seems like jalal knows abt jodha quite well, he told that he heard she can sing very well n have sweet voice something like that ... Then comes the food scene, jalal scored here.. He made her feed him n wash him hands as well... But my question is jodha did not react but only after moti bai telling her... Why is that so, was she not aware that he was struggling to take his food...I find she saw him but ignored him... But could not ignore more after being told by her maid...why is that so... I hope she was not aware... Coz her characteristics so far caring for all, even jalal is her enemy but seeing a person struggling like tat she should have offered help there n then... Just my view...

But this scene, something caught my attention no matter what you are even a princess status, but once married u need to serve your husband... I felt a bit bad watching that scene... How was jodha there in Rajput n it would ave continued to be like that in Suryaban s house but here

4. Agra scene- I find the scene was to simple... It was like nothing... Loved jalal mum n especially his sister, she's cute.. But jalal mum speaks a lot... N somehow I find it weird... I know she will be on jodha side but on 1 st day talking to much was not needed in my view...

5. Harem: I just hope jodha dun stay there too long, I just can't take it... Hope she has seperate palace to stay... Ruqaiyya is being overconfident ... N I guess she will realize soon jodha is not a toy for jalal but something more than that... I find her mistreating the woman in the harem as well... But not for long, jodha will def interfere.. It seems like harem will see two groups soon, one ruqaiyya n one jodha side... But no matter what jodha needs a seperate place...

6. Maharana pratap scene he was speaking his dialogues way too fast..l I was like what the... I think the actor needs to tone down a bit ...

7. Aunthy it seems like in the precap song, in one of the sbs segment, I kind of spotted bhagwandas head... So I guess hes there for the function... Interesting precap ...

Thank you, my dear Sweet, but do cool down, for I can see smoke coming out of your ears now, and not just Mahaam Anga's!šŸ˜‰

It is all I can manage to post my own analysis late at night and respond to the comments intermittently during the day, so I miss most of the other posts in the forum. But judging by your reaction, that is just as well, though I have only low blood pressure, not high.

I expect more fun and games tonight, after which we shall all suffer withdrawal symptoms, with only 21 minutes of Jodha Akbar daily, but then that was the whole point of this week, was it not?

Awesome job!

Really well thought out! First of all I'm upset with everyone thinking jodha is the bad guy in the tent situation. It was an accident and If the guy who got attacked is okay with it then we should be too, it was just instinct on her part.

Secondly, everyone seems so pissed off that she sang a Rajput song! I'm pretty sure Jodha did not grow up singing songs of Mughals and how awesome they are. Maybe that's the only one she knows, and like someone mentioned in the live update forum...she is not a GODAMN PARROT. Jalal is acting like a child way more then jodha was! It shocks me how people on this forum are telling her to suck it up...ugh hello? Seriously *Facepalm* okay I get it RT is hot I wouldn't mind being forced into marriage with him either okay but girls close your eyes and imagine being married to SHARIFUDDIN...you wouldn't like it would you? Lol I hope you get what I'm trying to say ( the actor is pretty good looking okay and I loved how he shaved)

Oh good lord that Harem is a gongshow! I had a headache watching those two fight over clothes. I'm sorry I would not be able to live with all those women

Hi Shyamala,
Apologies for not replying to the earlier posts...😳 Had read them and enjoyed reading them as always...but I find it difficult to write anything worthwhile in reply, if I have not seen the episodes! (Though in all honesty, I find your posts far, far more entertaining and informative than the actual showšŸ˜† Your words seem to add far more to the episodes, than they are actually worth!) I had missed the past few episodes on television and for some reason, its almost impossible to find the episodes online!šŸ˜• Why is that? Even the link on this forum for the video of the episode was not working!
Anyway, to cut the long story short, I happened to see the last two episodes and would like to add my two bits!
Loved the entire Shaadi Hoopla and Jodha (Paridhi looking gorgeous) and Jalal's sex politics!šŸ˜† Rajat is just fantabulous...I mean, I am finding it difficult to find the appropriate words to describe the way he nails the character!šŸ‘ To be frank, after having seen Hrithik's version of Akbar, I thought that no one could even come close to him...for me, he is Emperor Akbar now, even when I teach Mughal History to my son, whenever the subject of Akbar comes up, its Hrithik Roshan's face which comes to my mind!šŸ˜† But Rajat, though no Hrithik, comes up with his own, unique but nevertheless rivetting portrayal of the Mughal Emperor! It is very different from the way Akbar was portrayed in the film...but then the medium is also different...whatever the case, Rajat does an incredibly convincing job. Especially the one's where he expresses his cold rage or disapproval, in a way that only a Shahenshah could do!šŸ˜Ž
Paridhi on the other hand does a good job as well, but her character of Jodha has not been sketched well...instead of coming across as self-respecting and brave, she comes across as unreasonable, immature and stubborn!Confused I cannot imagine any Rajput Princess behaving in this manner with her husband, Mughal or not!
And on the subject of immaturity, I agree...the young Mansingh is extremely annoying! A son-in-law in a Rajput / Rajasthani family is akin to God...and here the son-in-law is not some small time prince of a neighbouring state...he is the Emperor of India, for crying out loud!😔 How a puny teenager could get away with such an attitude in front of the King is beyond me! And no one seems to correct him?Confused
But I suppose Jalal must have seen something in the impertinent youngster, that he ended up being one of the Navratna in Akbar's court and allegedly a favorite of the King! There are numerous mentions of Mansingh in Akbarnama and Aine-e-Akbari!
Btw, on another note, wasn't Mansingh's daughter wedded to Akbar and Jodha's son Salim and became the mother of Shahjahan?
Maham Anga is quite the clown...I love her expressions!šŸ˜† Ashwini Kaleskar is a great actress, more so when doing negative roles! I cracked up on the whole 'smoke coming out of her ears' thing...šŸ˜† She actually looked like she was going to burn and extinguish herself there and then! Can't wait to see Jodha and Maham Anga fighting it out!
Jodha will be given her own palace eventually, I guess...because till date there is a palace in Fathepur Sikri, which is called Jodha Bai's palace and is decorated with hindu motifs and also has a temple. When I had gone to Fatehpur Sikri many years back, our guide had shown us a spot in the fort complex and told us that Jodha used to keep Karva Chauth ka vrat for Akbar and used to break it from here...when the Shahenshah would come.Embarrassed Not very factual perhaps, but sounded so romantic!
Today's episode should be interesting...now that Jodha is in the enemy camp, let us see, where her 'Jalal Ka Sar' campaign should go now!šŸ˜†
Hoping to catch today's episode and read your take on it tomorrow! Thanks for taking out the time and writing such interesting posts for all of us to enjoy!😃
Love,

My dear Poppy,

Thanks for writing in and even more so for the extravagantly nice things you have said about my analyses. I have fun writing them, right from nailing the title to begin with, and I suppose that sense of enjoyment communicates itself to intelligent readers. I should thank you, and the others who have been as kind, for this; but for you folks, I would have quit in a week.

I would agree almost 100% with your thumbnail review, especially about Rajat's very different take, as compared to Hrithik's magnificent version, on a much harder and more muscular (not literally, where it would be the other way around!) Jalal. Then again, he has so much more time to develop and display the nuances. He is a master of facial nuance, this boy, and this is a dream role for him, and he is a casting coup for Ekta.

I also agree with you about Jodha - you might have read my harsh analysis of her behaviour in Imperial Flush post - though I must say that the actress is improving fast, and even more so about Mansingh. That kid's impertinence is beyond belief, as is the fact that he is not summarily ejected from the room and given a good thrashing by his father. But his face is very curiously still all the time, whence the phrase I used the phrase a gravely impertinent child, who is unaware of his impertinence. I suppose Jalal is an excellent judge of character, since he spots the gold within this cheeky facade!

Yes, I too have seen Jodha's palace at Fatehpur Sikri, and in fact Jalal did tell Mahaam Anga she was to have her own mahal, so I do not see why and how she ends up in the harem after all.

Well, there can be no more of the Jalal ka sar leit motif, seeing that he is her suhaag now, Good riddance!

On to the last long episode tonight, and undoubtedly withdrawal symptoms next week!

Riyya dear,

Thanks for liking this post, and even more so for locating Bhagwan Das for me!šŸ˜‰

I agree with all the rest of your comments. Though I did not mention it, I too thought it odd and out of character for a dutiful wife not to help her husband when he was struggling like that, whether she disliked him or not. It was very stagey, and she deserved to be conned that way. It was so well done that till the end, I did not realise what it was!šŸ˜‰

As for the 2 groups in the harem, that will come only when Jodha is seen to have a good bit of clout with the Shahenshah. Everything depends on that, even Ruqaiya's clout is because of the perception that Jalal listens to everything she says. So right now, as it will soon be clear that the Shahenshah is hostile to his new Begum, noone else will want to be in her camp. This will change, but it will take time, and I suppose the loudmouthed Motibai will only make matters worse.Hamida Banu's support counts for nothing in real terms.

Relax, she will get her own mahal soon, for as Poppy has pointed out, there is a Jodha ka mahal in Fatehpur Sikri.

Of Kunwar Pratap, the less said the better!

Thank you very much,my dear Sorcha.

Yes, the Pratap-Sujamal scene, being a filler, was worse than useless, as fillers usually are! I suppose that after having recruited that PR casualty for Jodha Akbar, he had to be given something to do.

I too am looking out for the second Jodha-Ruqaiya clash; remember the first one at the Agra bazaar?

Shyamala:
Awesome post again! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘What a read! It brings back the night's episode in sharp focus on the morning after ... and you cover every nuance of it!
One thing that I want to ask you about: I thought Jalal had planned that Jodha would not live in the harem but would get her own mahal? So how come she has been housed in the harem?
I am assuming that we have to imagine:
a. Her own mahal is not yet ready (nor her mandir yet)
b. We viewers, via Jodha's eyes, are getting to be shown the real insides of the harem and its politics in the duration that Jodha stays there
c. We are going to have confrontations between Jodha and Ruqqaiya (self-styled harem Field Marshal)
And after a taste of all this we will see perhaps Jodha sashaying to her own mahal?
Is this what you think will happen? Or have the creative conveniently forgotten the separate mahal thing?
Okay one more thing: that bedroom scene of Jalal. Just see this sentence Jalal says to Jodha and then tranverse it and apply it to him. He says "I like seeing that fear of me in your eyes. No one can protect you from me".
Now when he says it, it is his forewarning to her! Just imagine the same words said to him instead. That is the TRUTH! He hates seeing that fear of him in her eyes. And no one can protect him from her!
I used to have a very wise old uncle who revelled in turning things people said against them and he would very often use the same logic as I have done above to show that it is no accident that certain words slip out of certain mouths at certain times. And that very often the truth could be found by simply reapplying the words of the speaker against himself!
Yesterday I remembered that uncle!

I am enjoying this almost as much as I did writing my own Tom and Jerry take.

I thought it odd that as a dutiful wife, it took Motibai's stage whisper for Jodha to move to help her struggling (?) patidev. That too with such stagey standoffishness. I would have liked it better if she had been calmly supportive in a detached manner, like a nurse would have been with a patient. That would have been an effective putdown of Jalal, Not this. So much so that I was really pleased that she was conned; I too never saw it coming!

As for the bhajan not moving him, this Jalal is a tougher nut than Hrithik's elegant, thoughtful Jalal. But just as good in his own way, and that is a huge compliment.

Broom brush had me in splits. Perfect phrase!

Shyamala Aunty

Continuing...

Loved the way Jodha n Jalal's prayer scenes were shown with contrast . Point to be noted , unlike the movie...here Jalal did hear jodha singing krishna bhagan , but was not effected by it .

Aha ! Jodha kept Jalal , sharifu n Maham waiting at the breakfast platter . 🤣 Very good Jodha ! ( sorry I'm being childish here )

It was surprising , yet very nice to see that Jodha did not flinch for a second when Jalal took her hand when she was helping her to eat . All the time his eyes were set on her ( gorgeous ) face but Jodha was decidedly looking down . šŸ˜† No meeting his eyes .

It was interesting to see even after Jalal's very convincing ' I can not hold the chicken , my palm is hurt because of you 'act Jodha was coming forward to help him . She initiated only after Motibai's suggestion to help .

I found it odd that Maham had a smile on her lips when Jodha was feeding Jalal , washing n cleaning his hands etc . Why ? Shouldn't she feel angry that this hindu princess in getting ( or trying to get ) close to Jalal ? Shouldn't she be bothered seeing Jalal liking her proximity ?

I thought Maham would be more intelligent than this . Some warning bells on her brain should've rang at that point . She should , of all her person...understand that Jodha is not a mere fascination or game of Jalal , but some thing much much more ?

Anyway , never ever I thought Jalal's palm was perfectly alright n it was pure nautanki on his part to make Jodha...What ? šŸ˜• Touch him ? Feed him ? šŸ˜• What game point Jalal scored here somebody please tell me ?

But it was really naughty of Jalal to do so n he left with a broad grin šŸ˜†

Maharanapratap-Sujamal scene - I did not consider it as a waste of screen space as I was having the time of the day during the whole scene . Was laughing so hard that I got belly-ache afterwards ! I take these MP scenes here as pure comic relief ( Nothing against the actor I've , let me clarify 😳 ) . It's just the way he talks at a mail-train speed , without taking a pause..his lips move so fast ! And his broom brush mustache does not make him very impressive either .

So , now I quite look forward to his scenes , as I seldom get such jaw-breaking ' difficulty taking breath ' laughs .
