Today, what I admired most is the conversation between Saras and Kumud in the temple. Saras, said everything that has been on our mind and asked Kumud the right questions. Saras as a modern man cannot understand how Kumud can tolerate such a situation. He is the type of man a girl needs who respects a woman.
Kumud with all her justifications is still behaving like a drama queen and is not giving a good example to the girls of today. In the name of your parents honour we should accept everything, marry etc.
So for me, Saras was the true character!

Thats what the reality is !!!

Saras has been showed right from the beginning modern educated men from city who still has respect for roots while Kumud a new age edcated girl from a small village.

Kumud has been educated enough but still has all limitations of being a girl from small village.

Kumud has been showed lot more modern than film and novel ...wow the way she holds pramad hand ...now thats the level she can reach ...as for the reasons she gave...ironically al still stand true in villages and she did accordingly

I identify with saras and Kumud equally and feel cvs r doing great job at this point

Do we still have degree holders behaving like that? A girl with no higher education, no communication with the outside world, agree, but not one who fights for the rights of girls, who gets a computer for the village. Holding your husband hand when he is about to hit you is suppose to show what, accept your fate and try and change a man who gives no value to you, who wipes your sindoor, who behaves like an animal on your wedding night by showing his physiacal power over you.
I am sure his parents will never agree to the fact that their girl would accept such a fate, not her father, nor her barimaa.

Luv your thought, regarding Saras. So true.
I feel so good, I supported his character all along and will continue to do so. He did make a mistake though. However, if I was Kumud I would wait and definately try to find out why Saras was calling off the wedding and would have given him some time.

And that's what Saras said to her, I also admire the character of Saras, with his weakness and all. At least he respects women.

Really didn't understand what Kumud was trying to say. Sounded so contradictory but Saras did ask the question that has been bugging me since the marriage." Why did you marry in such haste?" Sorry he did not finish it off with "were you so desperate?"

Valid post.

>>>It's weird, watching the current track, I think both Pramad and Kumud deserve each other. Really bugging, when Kumud compared Saras to Pramad.

VC family cheated BD family- the BD family was not aware to what extent their daughter-in -law was involved with Saras, ( forget about PMS etc). Saras continues to live in the same house and poor BD family does not know who Navinchandra is. They continue to be cheated.

Kumud will act now, however, I doubt if she would have done much, if Saras did not pressurize her. I don't think she would have lived, beyond the second day of her wedding (pillar falling). Alas, real life women facing domestic violence do not have a Saras living in their home to help them.

BD family cheated VC family- they got their rich and useless son married to this educated woman. They promote their own daughter professionally ( though she also lives in this small town), and get a well educated daughter-in- law to make their son a human and hand over all the responsibilities at home. Really smart BD family.

Neither family thought, there was something fishy about this last minute wedding. Both will pay a price for it. They deserve each other.
