I loved that Deepika gave up her party girl image in this film and became a "geek" but shouldn't she have dressed the part too? Dresses are fine but on the mountains?

And what was she wearing at the wedding in the second half? Which geek doctor wears a strapless saree top. She was like naked there. It made me shudder.

When they could make her role believable by actually dressing her properly, why don't they do it? And they were trying to emphasize that she's happy with herself and her life and yet she became a sexy siren in the second half? Ridiculous.

thats why Kjo's chamcha Manish malhotra sucks...his clothes are never believable for films and its characters. SOTY, YJHD,KKHH all unrealistic idiotic designs. he is the most overrated fashion designer ever

Pretty unbelievable for her to be the geeky doctor and dress like that... but then again, that movie entirely seemed to be flaky :P

That tiny pink one-shoulder choli / bra was just bad. It didn't suit her figure at all. The miniature cholis made her look broader and flatter, like a big box. All of the lehengas were too low on her hips, and with the short cholis it made the outfits very unflattering. With that much midriff it's hard to see any sort of waistline. Can't expect much normalcy from a Dharma production, but I would have thought that they would know how to properly dress her figure.

In the first half I liked that she wasn't shown as totally frumpy. Being a nerd doesn't mean a lack of personal style. However, most of the clothes weren't sensible for the climate or situations. Reminded me of KANK, in which Preity's character, an adult working woman, wore a sequined denim mini skirt during the winter.

Great replies, agree with all of them.

Kjo has a bimari when it comes to dressing women in his movies... the guys are always dressed warmly while the ladies wear thin clothes.

In KANK when Srk and Rani were roaming around everyday, Srk had a sweater and jacket each time, while Rani never wore a coat and often had bare shoulders or sleeveless. And this was Fall/Winter in NY. All Kjo and Manish can ever do is color code couples, that's it.

Never knew there was a dress code for "geeky doctors". I used to be kind of a geek and am a med student so I should change my wardrobe, throw away all my dresses and skirts and wear clothes that geeks are "supposed to" wear? That's absolutely ridiculous...this age old stereotype!!

Now that that's out of the way, I do agree that her wearing a mini without even leg warmers in snow was funny (even though that was only once, she wore leg warmers afterwards but it kinda made me go W*F). And her bra type choli in the haldi/mehndi rasam was equally bad, if not more. Like seriously, what was the designer thinking?! But even if she wasn't a geeky doctor, it would have looked as cheap (for the lack of a better word)...
