U.S.-based Red Bison Productions has joined hands with Mumbai’s Azure Entertainment to produce an upcoming cross-border feature film, marking Azure’s first collaboration in Hollywood. The project is being positioned as a significant step in strengthening Indo-U.S. cinematic partnerships, with the makers aiming to tell a globally resonant story rooted in real-life experiences.
The untitled film will be written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar and is based on a true story. It will explore the emotional journey of an immigrant family navigating identity, belonging, and life beyond the traditional idea of the American Dream. The makers describe the narrative as intimate yet cinematic, reflecting themes that go beyond geography and culture. The film will feature National Award-winning actor Priya Mani and acclaimed performer Mohit Raina in lead roles. The project is expected to be shot extensively across New York and New Jersey, along with portions in Delhi and Jammu-Kashmir, offering a multi-location canvas that matches the story’s cross-cultural setting. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Speaking about the project, Mohit Raina said, “This project is very close to my heart because it explores identity and belonging in a deeply honest way.” He added that being part of the first Indo-Hollywood collaboration between the two production houses makes it “even more special.” Priya Mani shared that she was instantly drawn to the emotional core of the story. “What drew me to this film instantly was the emotional truth of the story,” she said, calling the collaboration “enriching.”
Red Bison Productions founder Romila Saraf Bhat said the story demanded a global voice, while Azure Entertainment CEO Prashant Ramesh Mishra called it a defining moment for the company’s international foray. Further details regarding the film’s title, additional cast, and release plans are expected to be announced soon.
