I guess, It can only happen when they aren't sure that he is dead or not...I mean, like army officer's wife, her husband is missing and she doesn't know if he is dead or not...

I don't think they can use this logic with Tanveer, as her supposed husband was after her less then a month before...so its a known fact that he is very much alive...and magicly will let her ex-or-wife to marry a man...kia baat hai nahi...??

As for divorced girl...I don't know exact time...But its less then 1 year...I know the fact that for 40 days or so, the girl/woman can't see any men who isn't her brother, father or chacha, mama etc...the same thing goes for a widow...

Divorced woman has to stay 4 months and 10 days.
