Raghu : Jo tab Bachaa Naa Sakaa...
"...woh ab bachaana chahtaa hoon."
It is difficult to ever comprehend what Raghu wants , what Raghu plans to achieve and for what. Did engineering a plan in going to the hospital , meeting a professional psychiatric doctor and fixing a treatment for Antu's mom in a span of less than 24 hours only and only have an objective of stopping Antara? I think not. Because if having a battle within himself for a girl who came as a distinctive gust of wind , emotionally throttling yourself and your anguish for the girl by punching walls and expressing, venting out all your emotions through a mouth organ is the only reason , then what Raghu feels can never come even near love. Therefore , the step he took in stopping Antara I believe cannot be emotional blackmail in restraining her for staying back , cause what he said to Antara when she asked his intentions cleared a hell lot of things through one dialogue. "Jo tab bachaa naa sakaa , woh ab bachaana chahtaa hoon." Thank the lord for the dialogue writer not being Hedge and team , and having Ravindra Gautam instead. We have always seen Raghu getting reminded of his dark days in childhood and his helplessness and anguish for not being able to save his dying mom by a frightened teenager , only through the angle of Antara's family . Previously when Antara questioned him of locking their door and not having it in him to understand how it feels when ones mom is screaming for you and you cannot do anything , the layering of Raghu's family happened only through the mean of Antara's family angle. A beautiful way of writing technique in order to bind the two characters. And again today we see , the need of setting a treatment for Geeta is in order to mentally forgive himself in not being able to save his mom when she needed him the most , by fixing Antara's mom's health. So already , unconsciously , he considers both him and Antu as one. 😉
Antara : In jaiso ki wajah se mein ek parivaar kho chooki hoon..
"doobara kho nahi sakti mein."
She did not want to be someone rebelling against a stranger's wrong doings cause she had her music , her guitar and her complete family with her.She never knew that one day the situation of her hometown will make the 19-20 year old girl in her witness her father's burnt body , tattered. I won't ever forget what she said in that episode previously. "Apni Papa ki jali hui shareer dekha tha maine" .She never knew that society's wrong doers will one day steal everything that was her life and give her a mentally ill mother with her dad killed by a bomb with his body burnt alive like that in front of her. She never thought that gundas , gangsters , and terrorists ever had the strength to steal her soul away from her till it didn't happen. And once it did , she realized how every boon , bane , corruption and domination of society affects everyone's life and one cannot just avoid it through blissful ignorance. That's what Antara did before in Kashmir , have a blissful ignorance from the tensions and violence of Kashmir and what did she get? A broken heart , a broken life and a broken faith. Raghu is a constant reminder to her of all the violent agents of society who stole her father away from her forever. Who do their dominating violence, use and exploit their power by harming others and rule everyone's free will by creating fear in people's hearts. Her dad till his last minute died a man with a fearless spirit and heart. How can Antu ever forget that? Exactly. She can't. And that is why after this , the next place she goes , she becomes a promise of what her Father believed in - of rebelling against the wrong doings of gundaas and terrorists. She lost an entire family because of such people for the reason she kept on standing against Raghu because she was determined to never lose her newly formed family again for such people. And for that , she can go to any lengths. Explains a hell lot about why she will never be able to accept his position and identity in the basti no matter how much he does for her today or tomorrow , even if she falls in love with him. Makes a whole lot of sense actually. That is why today you see her struggling to trust the human in Raghu , leaving all the developing pink sentiments inside , aside in a corner. She can't take the fact that because of wrong doers like Raghu who made her lose her dad and life previously can be the very reason all of a sudden in rebuilding the pieces remained in her family , by helping her ill mom. It's not easy at all , and that is why it will take her longer time to accept him and her latter feelings for him in the future.
Ps - A lot of their scenes have reminded me of Abhiya scenes. Raghu's turmoil regarding Antara was almost a rip off of the scene in which Abhay's anguish, turmoil and a battle within him develops when Piya is about to leave Dheradhun. Like Antara , Piya said the ditto same line to Abhay despite the whole world spitting at her - "Tum yeh hi chate the naa ke mein chali jaaon?Iss college se chali jaao , Dheradhun chod doon? Jaa rahi hoon mein.Iss college se aur tumse humesha ke liye door." Piya had guys all over the college calling her basically nothing but a w**** , telling her to spend nights with them in front of the entire college and all her friends spitting and bitching about her just cause she was accused of something. And yet , the only thing that mattered to her despite her world turning into a mess was leaving Abhay. It is very similar I think of yesterday's scene. Very similar actually. And today , The pulling the girl against you when logs and branches are about to fall on her because of the heroine's stuborness despite the hero's warnings is again a pretty much copy off of another Abhiya scene where the ditto thing happened. 😊 Just saying. 😆
