I really agree with them, Ash & Abhi are not good actors, Abhi is improving but Ash has never improved

'Ash, Abhishek's jodi won't sell'

News of a star engagement always calls for celebration. But Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's exchange of rings hasn't really been music to the ears of producers. Now that the couple is engaged, speculation is rife about the wedding date. And according to a reputed trade analyst, this is bad news for filmmakers who have invested in Ash and Abhi.

Box office analyst, Indu Mirani speaks about the impact of the marriage on the industry.

"I don't see Ash and Abhishek's jodi working wonders for their upcoming films. I don't consider Ash to be a good actress. It's not like Kajol deciding to quit films after marriage and the industry reacting to it with sorrow. I seriously see Ash cutting down on work and throwing herself into family life. She will soon want to have Abhishek's kids."

Not quite powerful

There is a strong buzz doing the rounds that Ash may prefer working mostly with Abhishek in the future. Reacting to this, a trade analyst on condition of anonymity says, "Of course, Ash will try and sign as many movies as possible with Abhishek. This will not only give her bargaining power but will also allow her to be close to him."

At the moment, Ash has two films lined up with Bachchan Jr — Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 2 and Raaste produced by Sunil Shetty. Apart from that, she's working on Gaurang Doshi's Happy Birthday with John Abraham and Jodha Akbar with Hrithik Roshan.

Meanwhile, Mirani says that credit for capturing the chemistry between Ash and Abhishek in Guru goes to director Mani Ratnam. "I think it's a happy coincidence that several scenes in the film captured their natural chemistry. I give Mani the credit for masterfully capturing their real-life romance and translating it on screen. It has nothing to do with the fact that the two of them are in love."

When asked if their marriage will monopolise the industry, effectively giving the Bachchans control over which movies the two will sign, Mirani says, "Definitely not. No single family can control the industry. Ash isn't that great an actress to command big banners to sign her up. Abhishek too has only recently started proving his acting skills. They have a long way to go before they are labelled powerhouse performers."

Ash may not be a great actress but producers still want to sign her so she must be doing something right.
She is very good looking so that works for her. And she is not a bad actress by any means. She was really good in GURU.Trust Manirathnam to bring out the best in his stars.
