Well there are different versions of that tale!

One. Radha was forever separated from Krishna. Since she was unmarried, she stayed that way for the rest of her life.

Two. She was married already to Abhimanyu, but her heart and mind was constantly on Krishna and at the end she returned to Goloka.

Three. Either at the solar eclipse in Samantapanchaka, or in the lunar eclipse in Siddhashrama, she reunited with Krishna.

Four. As a continuation to Siddhashrama: After reuniting with him, she returned with him to Dwarka.

Five: At the end of his life, she appeared before him, and escorted him to Goloka, His Divine Abode.

OH and about the Gandharva Vivaaha, Radha and Krishna did marry, but in the presence of Lord Brahma. SO it was a sort of Gandharva Vivaah with a witness.😆

Rukmini stayed with Krsna her entire life.

Thank you so much for the explanation, Surya! There are indeed a lot of different versions of the tale, and I'm glad you explained each one. I just had one thing to add. I believe that the husband in question was called Aayan, not Abhimanyu. Abhimanyu was the son of Arjun and Subhadra.

There is a story that I've heard in which Bramha, not recognizing Krishna as the omnipotent father of the universe, Shri Vishnu himself, hides the cow herd boys in swarg lok to see how Krishna would react. In response, Krishna takes the form of all of them so that no one in Gokul panics over the missing children and that the mothers of Gokul, who had always wanted to have Krishna as their son, get to take care of him. Krishna is omnipotent, so he can take as many different forms as he wishes. During this time in which Krishna has taken the form of these children, Aayan is married to Radha. So technically, Radha married Aayan's form, but it was actually Krishna that she married.

Yeah, I have read that version somewhere. Can't remember the source. BUt thanks for reminding!
I think it was in the Krishna Key or something.

Aayaan, ABhimanyu, all dpends on the version you read. Abhimanyu was quite a common name at that time, so maybe even a gopa called Abhimanyu could exist. Because in most of Srila Prabhupada's (and other Swamis') works, when he wants to refer to Radha's husband he says Abhimanyu. BUt many folktales say Aayaan. So I guess he had two names?😆

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that! My bad! And lol, it's possible that he had two names. Or perhaps the name was broken down and changed over the years as new languages developed. I mean, it was over five thousand years ago. And lol, yeah, I assume it must have been a common name. Lots of names are repeated in the mythos. For example, Karna's adoptive mom's name was Radha (he's sometimes referred to as Radheye). And she obviously wasn't the Radha we're talking about here.

Yeah😆 When I was small I used to think that after Krishna left Mathura, Radha married Adiratha and ... yeah...😆😆😆

I don't understand the concept of repeating name frankly. People were so fond of it!
