Name: Shweta Bhonsle.

Claim to fame: It's been a decade now for Satara girl Shweta Bhonsle in Mumbai.

She continues to get her creative satisfaction from her cameo roles in plays and soaps. She now plays Kanchan in the Zee daily Tumhari Disha and Nandini Singhania Doordarshan's Kaanch.

When quizzed about her Bollywood aspirations she confesses, "It's not my cup of tea and I'm happy with what I'm doing."

Favourite drinks: Vodka with orange juice.

Favourite street food: Vada pav.

Favourite restaurant: Kareem's, Bandra.

Favourite salon: Nalini & Yasmin.

Favourite clothes store: Lifestyle and Globus.

Favourite destinations: Satara and Goa.

Lata thanks for the information that was great well Guhas have chopped her role and I thought she was good as she was the sole supporter of Disha... 😃 😛

Hi,

I agree with you Samy.
I also though as a supporter of Disha, Kanchan is here to stay. Now it is only Disha against all the others in TD. With the exception of Azuba and Gautam (?).

Guhas sure knows what she is doing, I hope.

😃 no wonder she acts like a bevdi 😳 ha ha jokes apart that was a powerful potrayal she did as Kanchan in TD with that typical ghaati accent 😆 No offence meant, Its good to hear the satara/malvani style talking which is prevalent in some parts of Maharashtra.

Ya Samy, Kiran wish she was there in the serial for a longer time to add some spice ( kolhapuri mirchi) 😛 and also help out Disha who has noone by her side besided Azoba 😆

maybe in Gharana( Zee) shown a few yrs back as one of the bahus of the household. remember where 2 step sisters Pranjal and Suman get married. 😉 😃

Thanks for the article Lata.

Kanchan was a few straight forward characters in TD who minced no words. She always stood up for what she thought was the truth and had no qualms in admitting her fault as well. Though I feel sorry for Dish that she no longer has the support of Kanchan but am also happy that the makers of TD did not make the character of Kanchan go haywire and in the process make us crazy as well.
