Hey all. Today i had some free time and i was on the forum, so i went back to the old pages (went on random pages from 10 to 22). I was reading things we had posted and saw names that were new then and are familiar and loved today. I saw posts where people write things similar to what they are writing now (achouba has been around for a long time, i realised today 😊). I see earlier posts and see how opinions have changed. I read some of my older posts and was left blushing....good lord, had no absolutely no sense of decorum.... dont worry, didnt edit them.... i'm not ashamed of what i've written.... just taken aback by some of the things i've said 😳.

So if you're wondering what to do, grab a cup of steaming coffee or tea (presumably it is cold everywhere in the world right now, unless someone in this section posts from Australia)... and revisist the romance... read the old posts and discover old friends anew. 😃 Read what in the show used to get us worked up, read what used to reassure us, experience the madness of it all over again at one remove.... Happy reading.

If there is anything special that you come across, that makes you laugh or touches you all over again, come back, post it here and share it with all of us. I'm looking forward to the reactions 😊

Muneeza, in Casablanca when he tells Ingrid Bergmann to get on that plane (in the most sexist move ever, robbing her of the right to take a decision for herself), he tells her "We'll always have Paris".... a reference to the time that they had spent together ... its frequently considered the most romantic line in movie history ...its a reference to days of craziness, of being madly in love... somewhere i also feel that their romance becomes eternal precisely because it does not face the everyday and the routine.... anything which is caught in a space time warp (ie Paris) will always be beautiful....
So why do i like the line so much: a) Paris, of course, is my city of dreams but more importantly, b) I think the secret to happiness is discovering this Paris in every relationship.... a difficult and frequently discouraging task, but not really impossible 😊

Oh and for those who haven't seen Casablanca: I tried to write the story of the film down but realised that when put down the story sounds banal.... the film is more than the story.... so will just explain the scene... Bogart and Ingrid Bergmann fall in love in war time Paris, but their time together is cut short by her discovery, that her husband, who she had thought was dead, is actually alive. They meet some years later in Casablanca, where Bogart saves their lives. By now, she has realised that life is too short to let love go, so she wants to stay back in Casablanca with him but he tells her to go with her husband. At this point, he tells her "We'll always have Paris".... so does she actually stay back or does she leave on that plane? .... To find out, watch the film. 😃
