Teri khataa hai mere jiya...
...unpe bharosa kyun tunne kia?
What was it that had brought them to this stationary chapter of their lives. Each day dragged on like the last. She awoke to pray, cook, clean and look after the children hoping to run away from the demons that came alive at night. However every rising sun came with the promise of it's setting at dawn, a thought that continued to fill her with dread. The pace of the children slowed as darkness started to envelop the light, bringing an end to her chores and distracted mind.
The iciness in the Khan house continued, refusing to thaw. The bills were being paid and food was being eaten as the lights were switched off and on everyday. The house was drenched with natural light during the days and artificial at night but the radiance had diminished as each occupant walked around in a trance. Conversations which used to flow freely came to an abrupt halt, the silence lying over the house like a wet blanket..pulling it into a deeper hell with each tear shed.
Afraid of the turbulence, emotional risks and heartache longing brought they had avoided falling in love, restraining their steps as heart beats increased even slightly. Feeling content with whatever they had each one had continued living freely. Entering each others lives they seemed to fill a vacancy that neither thought existed. The fluttering of the hearts seemed to bring a restlessness they hadn't felt before, bringing to the forefront sides of their emotional selves they had been oblivious to. Though this new sensation brought a sense of uneasiness, as every new situation often does, their hearts taught them to embrace the brewing storm of emotions. Lighting a candle of love, emitting a new sense of hope for their future together, they had agreed to marriage.
Who knew the stormy winds would blow so ferociously, extinguishing the flame and the hope it had brought along with it. Their fears of heartbreak had become a staggering reality. A reality which held them down, refusing to let a moment of peace slip into their lives.
