Good topic Isha! đ
Hmm, arranged marriage versus love marriage... Ideally, everyone would love to have a love marriage. And ideally, love marriages would always succeed. But realistically both types of marriages have chances of failing, and a failed marriage is despite its inital name, a failed marriage.
I think the choice is up to the individual. Take for example Rajveer. He apparantly loves Carol, but had agreed to marry a girl who he has never ever seen. I think that might be a bit shocking, because nowadays arranged marriages have been redefined. In fact, girls and boys get to know each other before marriage and that too with their family's knowledge and blessings. I think thats truly the only difference in the typical arranged marriage and its new definition. But Rajveer's marriage might be a typical arranged marriage.
Then there's his family. They know what's best for him. It would be one thing if perhaps he had told them about Carol, but I'm not sure he has. That would be his mistake.
Personally, I would love to have a love marriage. But an arranged marriage in this day and age isn't the typical-Rajveer-styled marriage. It has the best of both worlds. It can be based on love and acknowledged by your loved ones. In that aspect its both types of marriages.
But I wouldn't mind an arranged marriage, especially in today's zamana.
It all depends on the situation and the individual.
