I think the whole idea/concept is ill conceived. Once you've seen the movie, I see no point in watch the serial version. In fact, I haven't watched it even once just for this reason.
Jhansi Ki Rani made sense as it had never been done before. Shobha was fictional, but still made sense as it was unseen before. Just saying, I don't see a serial version of the Jodha Akbar story making it very far as the movie is relatively recent and from what I know it did well. It is also shown regularly on Zee and Star networks.So, really what were you thinking?
The show is nothing like the movie. Nothing. The only thing we are sure about, is the fact that Jalal and Jodha will get married and fall in love. Every other thing is quite unpredictable. And Ekta has somehow played up the old dynamics of their relationship by introducing Jalal as a heartless warrior. I myself have watched the movie for a few times, and I am enjoying the show just as much. You should give it a try.
