Asad & Zoya: Wounded Hearts Epi June 21
Asad and Zoya, two self respecting and honorable people, who were almost ready to tie the knot last night are now trapped in a dark tunnel of deceit, betrayal, heart break and dishonor- all thanks to one whack on Asad's head courtesy Razia. Yes, Tanveer has been largely responsible for this fall from grace but without Razia, she couldn't have pulled this one. Tanveer has never succeeded in her missions in the past unless Razia accompanied her. Remember Zoya's abbu's fake demise? If that incident had broken Zoya's hope, last night's incident must have shattered her faith.
If it were not for the whack on the head, Asad would have never let Tanveer assult him the way she did. The deadly combination of the head injury and drugs in his system made him so vulnerable that Tanveer literally committed an act of sexual assault on the poor guy. Whether they 'did it' or not is not the question, but whether Asad believes he 'did it' or not is. We know Tanveer will make him believe that they both consummated their relationship. Asad has no recollection whatsever and unless Tanveer tells him the truth, he would never find out. Which brings us to the possibilty of Tanveer making an apparance at a later dater with a 'pregnant with Asad's child' drama. Hope someone has the presence of mind to look over her medical reports and enquire about the paternity in a logical and scientific manner.
Despite his flaws, Asad did not deserve this at all. He has always prided himself for being honest and honorable. He is respected in the society, he is his ammi's pride, his sister's honor, Ayaan's role model, Nuzhat and Nikhat's esteemed 'bhaijaan' and above all Zoya's 'Mr Khan' who she had tremendous faith in. He lost it all on the night he should have united with the love of his life in front of the very society and family that worships and respects him.
Imagine what this man is going through right now? Still in a daze from the after effects of the drug, he is yet to realize what all he has lost in one night. When Rashid abandoned him 17 years ago, he lit a fire of hatred and anger in him, but Tanveer and Razia have killed his self esteem and his ability to walk with his head up. Last night, he stood with his head hung, unable to have eye contact with anyone. Ironically, the only person he could look at was Rashid. The man who he despises the most, is the only person he could look in the eye last night. Will this incident open the doors of communication between the father and son or make things worse between them? Only time will tell.
When the aftermath of the incident hits him next week, Asad would a broken man. Loss of self respect and self esteem is the worst blow for any human being. Not only would he feel that he has let down Zoya, ammi and his family, he would feel let down by himself. He wouldn't be able to look himself in the eye.
Years ago, perhaps something similar happened with Rashid. Today, we all know Rashid as a spineless and weakling of a man. Why? The man lost respect for himself the day he betrayed Dilshaad and his family. To this date, he hasn't regained that self respect and that's why we see him as a weak and indecisive character. We don't want Asad to have a similar fate. He is a lion and would hate to see him trapped in a prison where he would lose his inner strength and ability to fight.
There are two ways this wounded man can escape from this prison of poor self respect and shame- Tanveer's full expoure and Zoya's unconditional support.
Unfortunately, I have very little hope from Tanveer. Zoya is my only hope. Once she calms down and listens to Asad's side of the story, hopefully she will put two and two together and realize what really transpired between Tanveer and Asad. Asad is a victim here and like any rape or sexual assault victim, he needs the undying support of his life partner.
Zoya is too distraught and heart broken right now. I have read a lot of criticism of Zoya's lack of trust in Asad. Her reaction right now is understandable. Yes, she knew what Tanveer's intentions were but she has no clue of her modus operandi. She feels Tanveer has seduced Asad but little does she know that he was duped, injured and then drugged by two evil women. As of now, she believes that Asad was a willing partner in this betrayal. Little does she know that he is a victim himself. Tables have turned between Asad and Zoya. Asad finds him in a situation where Zoya refuses to listen to him. Zoya has been on the receiving end several times. Perhaps this will make him realize how much that hurts.
If I know Zoya's character well, once she cools off, she will hopefully give Asad a chance to explain the details of that eventful night. She needs to realize that Asad needs her more than ever. This is not only a test of their love, but a test of their trust in each other- mohabbat aur yakeen. Ayesha bi's taveez will hopefully help them both through this crisis.
Here is where Ajmer comes into play. Ajmer will be a path of self healing and self realization for both Asad and Zoya. Hopefully, after initial accusations and finger pointing, Zoya will listen to him, let him know the details of Tanveer's evil intentions. Asad needs to be made aware of everything Zoya knows- the acid mehndi, the finger prints on the knife, Tanveer's SR challenge and her desire to marry Asad for his wealth and status.
Should they marry in Ajmer? I am not sure what the creatives have planned. I would prefer they not. This incident has broken them both to the core. Like all deep wounds, their wounds need time to heal. Marriage is not the answer. Unconditional support, trust and friendship is the first step towards this healing process. Marriage at this stage will just be a quick fix bandaid underneath which the wounds would still be open and painful.
Yes, Dilshaad has lost her 10 day challenge but that doesn't mean the nikaah is rushed at this stage. Asad has lost a lot more than Dilshaad's challenge. The man needs to regain his self respect before he can take such a major decision in his life.
Hope Ajmer and Zoya will help him towards this process...
