So finally I do decide to unpause it.
Congratulations me!😆
I'm sorry if I goof up but that's coz I dint have the stamina to read all the chaps to go in sink.
Anyway, I hope I've done justice to it.😊
Here's a short preliminary update from where I had disappeared.😳
Chapter Twenty Two
"Broccoli too overcooked?" Kria asked Sharon who seemed to be zoned out toying with her food. "Huh?" She looked down at her untouched plate and sighed. "No. It's fine." She poked the poor vegetable like she would stab it to death. "I don't know how you eat this thing. It tastes like feet!" She winced eying the greens on Sharon's plate.
"And I don't know how you eat those for dinner." Sharon pointed at Kria's dish. "It's plastic!"
Eyes wide and her mouth a huge 'O' she stared at her friend from across the table as if she had just slapped her. "You did not just insult Maggie noodles!" Sharon rolled her eyes at the over exaggeration. "Yeah, I just did."
"Hey, I thought you liked Chinese." She complained
"That thing…." Sharon said. "Isn't Chinese for God's sake!"
Kria shrugged. "Oh well, I just thought since it was all noodles, it must be Chinese." And laughed at Sharon's disgusted scowl. "Ok, Ok quit the dirty look. I won't insult you favorite cuisine. Which reminds me how was your dinner the other night? Swayam seems really nice."
She saw Sharon visibly stiffen at the casual comment but continued with her probing "It was really sweet of him to get us dinner. Did you two have fun?"
With one final glare at her friend, Sharon pushed her plate aside, got up and left.
"Opps… we have trouble here." Kria muttered getting up to follow her.

He tried her number for the nth time which went directly to voicemail. Why the hell wasn't she answering? She hadn't said a word except a "Leave!" when she had come out from the bathroom that day. He dint know what went wrong. Ten minutes ago they had an earth shattering experience of ecstasy… at least that's what he thought they did. Apparently not.
He had tried to reason with what the big headed girl's problem was. But she had got dressed in her shirt and chic pants and announced she was leaving for work. He had no option but to walk out of her apartment with hundreds of questions unanswered.
It irked him to no ends to be blown off after what they shared the night before. Who did she think she was? Dint that night mean anything to her?
And here he was losing his mind over the stiff woman. He had even tried to get in touch with her at work but she had been outdoors all these days at various locations and it had been next to impossible to track her especially when she had given her assistant strict instructions to not disclose her whereabouts.
Maybe he should go see her at her apartment he thought and brushed the idea aside. He knew if he was going even five feet near her without human eyes around them, he wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself and right now he just really wanted to talk to her.
So no... apartment was out…. But then how……
A small smile played on his lips when he thought of a perfect way to get her to come to him instead.

Kria knocked at Sharon's door and walked in without waiting for a reply. She saw her sitting on the bed, busy on her Mac on her lap, furiously typing away on the keyboard.
"Sharon?"
Her fingers paused and she looked up at Kria standing at the door. She shut her eyes, sighing, "I don't want to talk about it."
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have interfered."
Sharon shut the flap of her laptop and sat up straight. "Forget about it." She pat her bed asking Kria to come sit. "You're going home tomorrow right?"
"Ya, Mom would be so surprised." She sat next to Sharon with a smile, ignoring the quick dismissal of the topic. She was of cause disappointed that Sharon wasn't ready to talk to her about what was bothering her. Although they were such good friends, she felt she dint know her at all.
"And shocked too when she sees you with Shivam." She giggled while Kria shut her eyes groaning. "Shivam is a friend and I know my mom wouldn't understand that. She thinks I date every guy I talk to."
"She wants you to settle down which is obvious with every parent." Kria looked at her friend with saddened eyes. She knew Sharon missed her parents but she was too egoistic to talk about her insecurities. "Maybe you should come with us." Kria suggested, "Mom would like that."
"Are you kidding me? Your mom hates me!"
Kria sighed thinking she sometimes did underestimate Sharon, "You knew that?"
"Hell yeah! Remember the time when she had come to Delhi coz we were arrested for drunk driving?" Kria nodded with smile. "She had barged onto me with a pencil in her hand threatening me to stay away from you." She laughed remembering old times. Life was so easy back then. "I don't know where she would have punchered it if I had laughed in her face. She was so funny!"
"Wow! She did that? Well, that's my mom. She does get weird at times." Both of them giggled.
"But she loves you. And you are one lucky chic to have her."
"I know." Kria beamed. She couldn't wait to meet her mom now. She had missed her so much!
A phone went off in the hall and they both listened to whose it was.
"That's mine." Kria jumped off the bed, running to get it. "It must be mom."
But her smile disappeared as soon as she saw her caller id. Why was he calling him this late in the night?
She had consciously avoided being alone with him after the elevator incident. Although they did work together which made it impossible for her to avoid him completely. And it wasn't like he had tried to get any closer to her after that day anyway. Which made her a tad bit irritated. What was she thinking? Did she want him to be near her?
She pushed the answer button and before she could start off with her pleasantries, she heard his deep voice which always made her edgy. She shifted the phone from one ear to the other and listened to what he had to say.
"Kria, I need you to go see this outdoor shoot first thing tomorrow morning." He announced with a no nonsense tone in his order.
"But…" She started to protest.
"No buts! You are still my assistant and you do what I say."
Assistant my a**! She thought…. and was just about to retort back when he continued. "I'll send the driver at your apartment by 8. Be ready."
"Reyaansh, it's my official day off and I don't think….."
"We are running short of staff Kria… and I hired you to do a job not to vacation. You are very well aware that we do have to sacrifice on our personal lives in our profession, don't we?"
Was he suggesting she wasn't being professional and did not take her job seriously? The male chauvinist jerk that he was! Oh she hated him!
"Mr. Singhania…." She started to say in a cold voice of her own but….
"8 then tomorrow." He cut her before she had a chance to voice her thoughts and ended the call.
She was so ticked off! How dare he order something and hang up on her?! She threw her phone and sat down on the couch strangling a cushion like it was her boss's neck.
There goes her big surprise for her mom.
