I don't get the hype around Dhurandhar Returns

It's mainly pak bashing and support from ruling party the director too is from same company it's being hyped as if there is no other wonder 🤔

You are so wrong about Dhurandhar. Yes there is action in it but that action provides the context to the story. That violence is the world of lyari gangsters. How horrible those people are. Ranbeer faces sexual assault and gets beaten up within the first 5 mins of his entry on screen and inspite of perfectly capable of bashing them up has to quietly bear it so that his cover is not blown. It shows what he is up against as a spy. You can compare that to Hrithik's war which had stylish action without any context to the story. All the action was unrealistic just to show the hero as an alpha male who can ride fast vehicles and do krav maga stunts shoot guns and flying kicks and romance sexy heroines by dancing to a fast beat.

That's not how spies operate.

The whole 3 hours 35 mins explained how ISI used gangsters of lyari and money launderers supported by Indian traitors for the terrorist attack in Mumbai. That is the story. And layers and layers of involvement of politicians rival gangs police to our own bureaucrats politicians and businessmen in India.

For once there is honesty on screen and story that wasn't told before in an entertaining way. It is a realistic gritty crime action and yet you find it stylish that is how Aditya Dhar wins.

It's not a soft romantic story. It's the story of a spy who is collecting information in the midst of a brutal gang war. Obviously there will be noise. Bombay don't go off silently and guns make noise too.

And no romantic movie garnered this craze because they are just not entertaining enough. The problem is the movies.

I remember a similar craze in India about two movies and one of which had absolutely zero violence that was Hum Aapke hain Koun. The other was DDLJ which had violence only in the last scene. Both were as much a trailblazer as Dhurandhar was because they were entertaining too. People still find HAHK fun.

So soft violence free movies can be successful too if they have a good story layers of drama and great music and style and most importantly should be entertaining

Saiyaara was bad.... Really bad other than two songs and lead actors chemistry and acting nothing else was remarkable in it worth a second watch.

I agree! I haven't watched the film,I am in love with all the material I have seen.Watched it 100s of times.That Is probably 80% of the film.Stll,I can't think of watching on Netflix.

So,that is why this is suprising for me
