Anyway, the story is about the Bharadwaj family. There's Ammaji, who has 3 sons. Yash, Kumar and Shantanu. Kumar was married to Alaknanda and has a daughter, Meerra but he had an affair with a dancer. One night, Kumar gets into an accident and dies.
Then, this guy, Shantanu, who had left home long time back, comes back to Banaras to throw the ashes of his dead wife into the Ganga. There he meets Meerra and one day, he saves Meerra's life and she brings him home only to find that he is the long lost son of the family.
Ammaji tells Meerra that since she reunited the family, she can ask for anything and Ammaji will agree to it. Shantanu acts awkwardly toward Alaknanda and later, we find out that Alaknanda and Shantanu were lovers before marriage but as the dad of Shantanu was dying, he makes Alaknanda promise to be his bahu. She agrees and the dad says that she will marry Kumar. So Alaknanda and Shantanu part ways.
Somehow, Meerra finds this out and makes it her mission to get her widowed mother married to her ex-lover. When Ammaji finds this out, she punishes Alaknanda in a really bad way.
When Alaknanda is done with the punishment, Meera tries to convince Ammaji to get them married and now she plans to use that promise Ammaji gave her to ask for the marriage of her mom and Shantanu.
So thats the story in short...
