Guys I am more than disappointed with the decreasing comments. I know I don't update that frequently but I do try to give as much as I can, but what I get in return, a single word reply. If this keeps continuing I am sorry to say but my updates would also be like your comments and I will end the ff too. It takes a lot of efforts from my side to take out time from my busy schedule, but then I need your responses in return too. I am sorry if someone feels bad, but the truth is always harsh.😡
Thank you to all those who commented, it really meant a lot. It only keeps us motivated and to update frequently.🤗
PART 52
It had been few days after the revelation and maan was determined to tell Savitri about the truth of their relation now as he was in no favor to lie with his mother anymore. Since that day his mother had avoided interaction with both of them, her ignorance quiet an evidence of her anger over the issue.
It was around 10 in the night and dadi was asleep early today, thus both the women in the house were back early to their room. Feeling the optimum time maan decided to confront his mother today itself. "maa I need to talk with you" said maan entering in Savitri's room. She didn't replied just sat down on the bed looking at him.
He went and sat beside her and taking her hand in his, he said, "I know maa I had hurt you with that decision of mine, but please try to understand my position too. I don't feel ready to commit myself in such a big responsibility at this tough phase of my life. I need to make a stand for myself, to give you and dad a secure future. I need to achieve my dreams first, and then only I can think about a family. Just give me few years' time, phir aap jaisa bologe, I will do only that, promise maa"
Savitri took a long sigh as she pressed her hand on his cheek, "maan am not angry because of your decision, but am angry because I thought that you didn't trusted your maa enough to think that she will force you in unwanted things. Agar aap hme pehle apne man ki baat bta dete to hum ne apke bache ko lekar itne sapne nhi sajaye hote. I am just upset maan from both of you for hiding that from me"
"maa I just didn't wanted to upset you, that's the reason I hid the fact from you. I didn't wanted to keep you in shadow, and I promise your every dream will be fulfilled, its my responsibility but just some time is needed"
"I understand bte, and I am sorry for being angry on both of you just for no reason. But I know you both will never break my trust." Maan hugged savitri feeling emotional as he knew he had broken her trust on him long back.
"maa I want to tell you something more" he said after a minute of hesitation.
"kya hua bte" asked savitri worried seeing those tension lines on his face.
"maa we had something else hid from you too" said maan looking down.
"kya bte"
"we don't share a normal husband-wife relation. We aren't like other married couples." He said taking a long sigh.
"matlab" savitri said shocked and confused with his words, not able to grasp a single thing out of it.
"maa promise me you will relax and hear out everything from me first before reacting" maan said holding savitri's hand in his as he started narrating the tale of his wedding life to her. Savitri was more than shocked to hear that geet wasn't the girl she thought of, but was her younger sister and underage too. maan could see the tearful as well as angry eyes of his mother by the time he completed.
"maa please try to understand" he said when savitri stood up looking away from him.
"don't maan, don't!!!! I couldn't believe you could hide such a big fact from me. Actually you didn't hid fact, but you both lied to me. Today you both had shattered my trust on you to bits; I couldn't believe that my own kid could do this with me. And wo ladki, mujhe vishvas nhi hota, jise mai ek saaf dil ki insaan samajhti thi uska man itna kala ho skta hai. She was equally at fault as was her family. agra unhone sach chupaya, to usne bhi unka saath diya. And then my own blood supported her in her lie. How could you maan do that????"
Savitri was shouting on him as tears flew down her old eyes. She couldn't believe the son whom she brought up for 25 years of her life could do such thing with her.
"maa I understand your condition, I felt the same when I came to know of the truth. I even took her to her house but then I came to know they have left the city. Mai nhi chahta tha ki aap uske sath rahe, uske jhuth me jiye isliye use sath le gya tha. Sach ma I tried to avoid her to be angry on her, to' to break every relation with her, par sach ma jitna use dur jana chaha utna hi use apne kareeb pata chala gya. Jitna wo is rishte ko nakarti, utna hi mai is shadi pe vishwas karta chala gya" maan said breaking down in fornt of the woman who knew him inside out, who knew his most happiest as well as the most embarrassing moment too, the person in whom he trusted more than himself.
"maan all these things make her more cruel, she just hadn't hurt me but you the most and for that I won't forgive her ever, how much ever you try", Said savitri as she marched out of the room while maan followed her trying to explain her.
Savitri barged into maan's room only to find geet asleep fully on the bed, covering most part of the bed in her famous sleeping style. Anyone seeing her like that would assume that she takes the whole bed for herself, leaving maan to fetch for himself another place for sleep.
It was a fuel in savitri's anger as she imagined the hardships her son faced. Afterall she was a mother first and can't see the problems of her son. She marched near the bed and with a harsh pull, made geet step off the bed breaking her peaceful sleep. Geet got startled with the sudden disturbance and rubbed her eyes trying to focus on the surrounding.
She got shocked seeing the red eyes of savitri and wondered what had gone wrong. "maa please listen to me first before taking any decision" said a helpless maan as he saw the rude behavior of his mother toward his love, but his words got consumed in his mouth as he heard a loud slap.
His eyes filled as he saw geet's left cheek which had red marks of savitri's fingers. Geet covered her face with her palm as her eyes watered with the painful sting as she looked at savitri with a painful expression.
"maa ye aap kya kar rhi hai" said maan coming in front of his mishty as he saw savitri raising her hand again. "maan don't you dare come in between today. Is ladki ki himmat to dekho, itna sab karne ke baad bhi kaise aram se so rhi hai aur yha mera beta har pal dard me marta hai. Today her own dead parents would have been ashamed and would have cursed for giving birth to such a witch who consumed happiness of my son. Sach maan, agar mai iski maa hoti na to ise paida hote hi maar deti"
The harshness of savitri's words were more painful that the slap for geet. The slap was a physical hurt but her words hit straightly to that sensitive nerve of her heart which could make her die at the very moment. She hadn't even seen her parents, she was 2 when she died. There was always a longing in her to grow up with the love of mother and care of father but she never got that. Then in chichi she saw her mother but she too betrayed her in such a young age of her life and now hearing all that geet really wanted to die at the moment.
Maan just felt so torn at the moment. His heart pricked with needles hearing those words for her. He knew she was wrong in the issue but they both had enough of this sorrow and blame. They are happy now and that is what should be mattered. But he understand the pain of a mother for her kid too, she is pained for being kept in darkness, but was geet only in fault in all this. He had helped her in hiding the facts and he must be equally blamed too. he was in dilemma now to console his crying wife or to support his mother who was in pain now.
"bas maa you had said enough for my wife, I won't tolerate a single word more against her" he said when he saw her raising her hand again.
"after all this too you are taking her side. How can you maan!!!!" savitri said in disgust seeing maan supporting geet. "maa jo hua wo past tha, and we had moved on now. Wo sab ab aur maine nhi rakhta hum dono ke liye, we are happy with the way we are now, please aap bhi is sach ko man le" said maan literally begging to his mother.
Savitri just looked at maan in shock and then walked away not even glancing at geet who was puddled on the corner in floor, as she sobbed uncontrollably realizing the reason for savitri's anger.
Maan immediately was beside geet as he tried to hug her and sooth her, but she backed away. She pushed away his hand whenever he tried to reach her.
"geet bacha, please meri baat suno" said maan in the softest voice he could use but she just backed away more. Her parents would have died because of the shame of having her as a daughter was the only fact that revolved in her mind. The slap, the physical pain was long forgotten as her mind covered with disgust for herself. She just wished that something could happen and she die at the very moment, she just wished that the ground could consume her and send her to her parents, probably she could explain them that she was not bad, she didn't wanted to hurt them ever.
"geet please listen to me for once bacha" said maan but she just kept crying, tears flowing out of her eyes uncontrollably. "geet I know everything will be ok soon, just you need to be patient" said maan as he somehow got control of her hand and pulled her to him, taking her in his embrace, he hugged her tightly patting her back to sooth her down but she kept sobbing.
After a minute she whispered, "god is so cruel, why he saved me in that car accident in which my parents die. Kash I would have died too, kash I could die now and explain my parents that I wasn't wrong, I am not a shame for them" she ended wailing more loud by the end of the sentence while maan just kept a finger on her lips, "sshh, dare you talk about death again. God saved you for me and you can't wish of dying now till you are bounded with me samjii" he said but she kept whispering I want to go to my parents, am not a shame.
He didn't know what to do to make her calm, to make her sleep. Even he need to talk with his mother too but the condition in which geet is, its so vulnerable that he can't even think of leaving her for a second.
He just kept her in his arms, but she wasn't anywhere near calming. Sighing, he stood up and lifted her in his arms, in bridal style and took her to bed. He sat down on the corner while made her sit on his lap. Placing her head on his chest, he cupped her cheek which had red finger prints. "am sorry for that" he said when he saw her flinch even with his slight touch on her cheek.
She didn't said much just kept quiet. "I want to go to dii" she said after a moment of silence, her head still placed on his chest while her hands fisted his shirt. "geet is waqt kaise" he said feeling more helpless when he saw her tears flew again with his denial. "ple'ase" she sobbed. Her heart just wanted to be close to someone with whom she could share her heart, her helplessness. Probably for the first time in last few months, the need for suhana felt.
"geet try to understand bacha, how can we leave now. But I promise when we will go back, we will go via suhana's house so that you could see her, ok" he said thinking may be it would lighten her mood but she said nothing.
"geet mujhe nhi btaogi apne man ki baat" he said seeing her so closed up but she didn't said much. He didn't knew how to approach her heart, she had always opened up to him her hear, but today it felt as if even he couldn't reach the deep valley of her brain. Her eyes were bright red with all the continuous crying, her face was pale, while she just sat on his lap sobbing clutching his shirt but didn't said a word.
He moved his fingers in her long hair, brushing them smoothly trying to relax her. She didn't say anything, letting him do whatever he want. It was probably more than an hour when he felt her sobbing decline as her whole body weight fell on him now, declaring she is in light sleep.
He slowly lifted her up to keep her on bed but she opened her eyes even with the lightest movement he made. After making her lay on the bed, he kept her head on his lap, as he fingers continued making those soothing motions in her hair until she was asleep again. he kept his head against the wall as he tried to think of the next step of their life.
I know many of you thought of savitri as a mean woman, but you are just thinking from one side. Think of a mother who had given her son to a girl's hand and then found it to be a cheat. No woman can accept that, I can bet on that.
