Punarvivaah's heartthrob visits capital on the occasion of the show completing one year ahead of Woman's Day

New Delhi, March 7: You have watched her as the beautiful and intense Aarti Scindia in the top rated show, Punarvivaah, that set a benchmark in differentiated concepts on India television. Punarvivaah has completed a year now and viewers have seen Aarti go through many upheavals and turmoils after her remarriage to Yash(Gurmeet Chaudhary). Today the gorgeous and charming Kratika Sengar who plays the character of Aarti Scindia in Punarvivaah is in Delhi to meet her fans who have loved and supported the show since its launch last year.

Speaking about this milestone, Kratika says "It's been a great celebration on the sets with so many fans – even from Europe and Pakistan -to wish us on the show completing a year. Punarvivaah is a show that has actually made a difference to the way people in India think about re-marriage. It has changed people's mindsets to become more accepting that all of us should have the chance to be happy in our lives even if it means getting re-married. It's a feeling of deep satisfaction when a crew member on the sets recently told me that he considered it and is now actually getting re-married after working on the show. Scores of people call and write to me saying how the show has inspired them to give marriage a second shot after a divorce or having lost their spouse. More and more women have begun to assert their right to happiness after a failed marriage or widowhood.

"That the story of Punarvivaah has proved to bring about a social change and that itself is very gratifying for all of us who work on the show. It's a feeling of accomplishment and it's all been so overwhelming. It's the love and support of my fans and their blessings that have brought me to where I stand today in the TV industry. I hope my well wishers continue to appreciate my work and shower me and my co-stars with affection in the coming years. Another exciting thing is to be a part of a show that set off a trend for many more shows to be made by other channels on this subject. To be a frontrunner in this chaotic TRP driven industry is a challenge and very satisfying," she adds.

Kratika who is very excited about meeting her fans in Delhi, also shares a special corner for the city as she finished her graduation before moving to Mumbai. As a token of gratitude and in the spirit of Women's Day, Kratika will also be paying a visit to Bhartiya Manav Kalyan Kendra Parishad where she will meet with the young girls of the institution and spend some quality time with them. Her fans can also hear and interact with Kratika on FM.

"I love Delhi and to be come here to meet audiences who have loved our show and on the occasion of Woman's Day feels good. I feel that every woman deserves to be treated like a queen since she is the heart and soul of the home. However, in our country, the girl child is looked down upon with scorn and there are many women who are ill-treated within their own homes and this makes me very sad. Zee TV is celebrating this lovely occasion of Women's day by requesting every man to put an Umeedwali Smile on the face of the women in his life. I hope that this translates not just into positive action on Women's Day, but everyday of the year! On my part, I hope that I manage to do just that for the girls of Bhartiya Manav Kalyan Kendra Parishad in Delhi" says Kratika who is a staunch supporter of Women's Day celebrations.

Right from its launch last February, Punarvivaah has raised very pertinent questions as to why there is a separate set of rules for men and women when it comes to re-marriage. The idea of a mother-in-law taking a vow to get her own daughter-in-law(bahu) remarried after her son has deserted her for no fault of hers has appealed to viewers worldwide. The gradual adjustments between two people who have been married in the past, their teething troubles before they slowly come together have been depicted in a realistic manner and audiences have found a story that they can closely relate to it.

In the upcoming track, viewers will see Aakash (Akshay Dogra), the 'real' Scindia son return home along with his wife Ishita (Heena Parmar) and ways in which the family will struggle to adapt to them. While Gayatri will be thrilled to be reunited with her son, the rest of the family will come to terms with the new family members in their own ways. Will Aakash replace Yash in the house? Who will be the heir in the Scindia household? How will Yash and Aarti's marriage withstand these developments?

For this and more, watch Punarvivaah, every Monday to Friday at 10.30 PM, only on Zee TV.
