Hi guys i found this article on the net so thought i should share it with u all😃

By Behjat Sahar

Almost everyone of us have their own favourite stars and celebrities. We have our favourite actors, actresses, singers, sportsmen, etc. While someone's favourite is Britney Spears, the other might dislike her and like Kylie Minogue more. We have our own reasons for our choice. We often talk about them, their latest movies/songs, and other things associated with them. We watch their videos and listen to their songs with interest. We even have some (not dozens of) their posters and pictures, and we all like to see them live, go to their concerts, and so on.

But then everything is fine when it is within limits. When we reach the extremes for something, then that harms us greatly. Similar is the case with celebrity obsession. When we like some celebrities, talk about them, etc. that is perfectly normal. But when we reach to the extremes, that is when all our thoughts are only occupied by them and we daydream about them all day long, eat and sleep with them in our minds and do all that is mentioned above, then we are very likely to damage ourselves and our life.

Specially during the teenage years we are very likely to fall for physical attraction. The media, all of this looks so glamourous and exciting. We are immediately attracted by the good looks and beauty of a celebrity. And then soon these people become our idols.

Celebrity addiction, as said before harms yourself and your life. When your thoughts are occupied by a star, you cannot concentrate much on your studies, friends, families, and other important activities that are fit for your age. Your grades may slip and you can lose your friends. Surfing through your favourites' websites and watching their movies for long hours affects your eyesight and health. Your body does not get the physical activity necessary at this age to get proper sleep. Moreover, there is no contentment in these activities.

You may think you gain pleasure out of these activities, but just think for a moment that do you really get as much happiness and contentment in doing such things in excess. I'm sure you'd feel better when you plant a tree or read a book.

All this not only affects you, but also your parents and those close to you. They would also start worrying about you. Moreover, think about the price you pay for your celebrity obsession — yes — the countless hours spend on the Internet staring at their websites, buying loads of posters, wallpapers, T-shirts, concert/match tickets, DVDs and tapes and other sundry merchandise. Are you really putting your money to good use? Will all this benefit your life and future in some way? All of this is a waste of your or your parents' money.

Excessive addiction to some star may prove even more dangerous. It can cause deep depression, anxiety and psychosis.

The media is continuously changing. At one time a celebrity might reach the zenith of his career, and at another he might fall. Celebrities come and go when their hair turn grey. They are replaced by others, and so this cycle continues. If you keep running after them one after the other, the media won't stop but you are in for a loss.

As said before, you can put up celebrity posters, buy their T-shirts, CDs, concert tickets, etc., watch their movies — but within limits! Don't go beyond that. There are many other things to be done in life, many other aims to be achieved, and many other things to enjoy in these teenage years. So live a balanced life and go after these things while keeping your favourites side by side.

My questions:

Are you addicted or obsessed with any celebrity?

Do you think celebrity addiction can be harmful to you and your life?

Anything you do to take ur mind off any celebrity?

Your opinions or comments about this?

Love,

Amina

This question can be answered easily when we see heated discussions which almost reach the heights of abusing each other. It is intresting that the addicts do not get the point that there favorite celebrities do not give DAMM who these people are 😉

Only myself 😳 😆😆😆

No, am not, never was and never will be. Currently, I definitely am a biassed abhishek fan, but I leave it at that. I am neither obsessed or addicted to him.

Do you think celebrity addiction can be harmful to you and your life?

Most certainly! "Got doubt?"

Anything you do to take ur mind off any celebrity?

one should get a real & constructive hobby

Your opinions or comments about this?

Love,

Amina
