the 'monkey see monkey do' mentality does not stop short with established film directors such as SLB so it seems but then it is not expected that the original be copied word for word, because were that to happen, it would not fall in well with ratings/popular consensus which unfortunately is the main concern with tv serials that are made for commercial profit...which is why these serials churn out same old formula time and time again.. Slb is no different.

And thus by virtue of having the same narrative Slb glamourised the classic novel a bit too much, effectually butchered it a bit. If it was entirely his own creation, it would have been far better however we are talking about a classic novel that is not suppose to be about love, that he has tried to reinterpret, essentially failing to capture the simplicity and nuanced characters from the original that go much more beyond mere physical appearance. His adaptation is invested too much in the love/romance aspect, the characters appear too full of vanity with somewhat inflated egos which can be perceived from the way these characters are portrayed, but anyway i dont think he wants to keep it close to the true story so that he can continue to satisfy popularity because thats what they want and thats what he needs.
so long as people are aware that the classic is a classic.

After reading briefly online the original story of Saraswatichandra I don't want SLB to do the same thing with the show. I wouldn't mind some changes to the story to make it more interesting.
To be honest I am liking the way things are going at the moment. We should wait and watch a bit more to actually judge if we like the story or not. Its too early for me to give a sudden judgement on the story.

I love GR and everyone is really acting well.
But why name it Saraswatichanda?
In the movie Parineeta same thing happened, I am a big fan of Shartchandra the great writer and in that also they butchered the story.
Anyways I guess I am getting old 😉

I have no problem with the current version of the story as long as the name is different may be ' Sanyasi bana grahsth' or 'Yogi bana bhogi' or any other suggestion?
