Mumbhai, May 18th, 2013. Afternoon
Parking her white convertible in the garage, Manvi sighed as she gathered herself. She couldn't believe she was finally done, with uni, tomorrow she would be graduating as a neurologist. Yes she Manvi Chaudhry (age 24) had done anything and everything needed to earn this right and claim the tittle of a Neurologist, she'd also graduated with top marks in her class! Getting out of the car she grabbed her tote which carried her books, wallet, lappy, and other daily essentials that she used for Uni everyday and stepped out and into the kitchen. Feeling nostalgic, she slammed the tote on the kitchen counter and called out for Mrs. Mary, the Chaudhry houses nanny-come care tacker. She called out once again for her as she filled herself a glass of water and gulped it down.
"Yes Mannu Darling? Did you need something?", Mrs. Mary asked her, stepping into the kitchen.
"Umm..im just kinda hungry..could you make me a sandwich?" Manvi asked her.
"Of course..and before you ask, your Parents are at the office. The twins (20) Simran and Yash are at a friends and Jeevika (26) went with Viren (30), to visit a friend just as they arrived earlier today and didn't say when they would be home." Marry told her as she pulled out the bread, some veggies and dressing to make her a sandwich.
"So its the usual huh? Everyone said they would be home, but they found other things to do. Once again me and my tanhai..lolll", Manvi chuckled faking a smile, wondering why that had even surprised her.
"Hey sweetheart, don't be upset..and your not alone I'm always right here with you" Mrs. Mary gently said to her handing her the sandwich.
"Yeah i know..just sometimes.. i wished everyone else would put in the same effort i do towards us as a family. Even when the others don't, Ma and Papa still favor them, and i just wished that for once they would see and know that I to am their Daughter.." she replied in a low tone as she headed upstairs to her bedroom.
No longer having an appetite Manvi placed the plate on her dresser, and dropped her tote down beside it. She walked over to the window and sat down on the bench beside it with her knees pulled up and hugging them to her chest, looking out into her backyard holding the tears back' If an outsider looked into her life, they would see a young lady who went about smiling and laughing who hailed from a high class family who owned a construction company that had been running successfully for a few generations now. She was tall at 5'9 with a size 0 figure that filled in, at all the right places and was working to become a doctor.
To that world she lacked nothing, she came with a amazing background, her every wish made true at just the thought and also came with beauty and a brain. But if they looked in, they would see the fragile being that she was, and would see that all she craved was.. love, just a little bit of love that was given to her, and that it was the only thing she had ever wanted or asked for.
Now you would ask, why did she crave for love if she was a beauty? Because she didn't want that lustful type of love, or the love someone had for her money or brain. She just wanted someone to love her, cherish her, just as she was.. however she was.
Evening slipped into midnight, yet no one returned home, expect for her parents who just settled into their room and went to sleep claiming it to have been a tiring day after bagging an amazing deal, best one till date they had proclaimed. Knowing the others would be returning maybe 3/4am, she gave up, and after washing up tucked herself into bed.
Morning dawned the next day, and Manvi was surprised to find her family all dressed and ready to attend her graduation, for once they where actually going to be there on her big day. The day seemed to slip past her, Di nd Jiju where there with her Maa, Papa and the twins to, and they had all shockingly stayed for the whole event. Later they had clicked pics as the community congratulated her and the family for her achievement. It was during the photo session only that she got another surprise that her parents where hosting a party to celebrate her success, at the Mansion tonight.
8pm Chaudhry Mansion
Manvi stepped down into the hall, wearing a baby pink anarkali that touched her toes and flared around her, at the instructions of her Mom. That again had been a surprise to her, she had never managed to get their attention for so long on a single day and today it had just kept poring in. Most of the guests where already here now and the party began in full swing. She was talking to a few of her fellow graduates who had also been invited to the party when she heard her Dad speak on the intercom. Turning towards the middle of the hall where he stood. She began to smile as he started speaking about her surprisingly.
"This daughter of ours, Manvi.. has never failed to please us and make us proud. I can't think of a single moment where she did not achieve what we desired her to. and today once again she has made me and Shalini proud, by accepting the hand of Virat Vadhera CEO of Vadhera Industries, in marriage!", Madan cried out, as the whole audience erupted in applause.
Manvi stood frozen in her spot. Just watching her Dad beam with a smile stretched on his face, from that smile itself and the look he passed her mother who stood beside him. She knew, knew that this was the deal they had finalized last night. They had sold her..into marriage with Virat Vadhera to gain a profit deal for the company, without asking or even telling her. It might be weird, but from all the things that had happened today this was the one that had not shocked her. More surprisingly she knew that she would not be able to reject the marriage offer that she had never accepted in the first place. True she had no real reason to reject it, but nor did she have a good reason to accept it, for she knew Virat Vadhera not at all, or very little. All she knew was that he was a guy who respected his elders, with a playboy attitude sometimes, and was the CEO of Vadhera Industries and quiet successful at the age of 28, a orphan and self made man.
All of a sudden she felt her view get blocked by the shadow of a man. Looking up, her eyes scanned the 6'4 inches of masculinity in its extreme, before her eyes met his. As he held his hand out for her to take, she took a quick breath after closing her eyes and composed her inner turmoil to deal with later.
"I know its hard, and all of a sudden, but please, just trust me..you wont regret it", he urged her, and she moved her hand forward, unable to refuse him for some reason, her heart telling her to just let it happen and placed her hand into the hand of her fianc.
The night seemed to slip by her, before she knew it she had exchanged rings with Virat and they were urged to share a dance together. She felt herself melt in his arms as he twirled her into a different world where her pains didn't exist. His hard toned shoulder muscles under her delicate hands, his hands holding her my the waist. Her petite form dissolving in his bigger macho one. A feeling seemed to overcome her as she looked into his hazel eyes that seemed to drown her in his gaze, that told her to just trust him, to let go of everything and let him in, and of finally..having someone who actually cared for her? As the thought sank into her, she looked into his eyes, she wasn't quite sure if it was true, but the thought made her heart jump. He had been just a stranger a few hours ago, but now her fianc, and strangely, it wasn't odd, more as if it was peaceful?. Rest of the night passed with her always in his presence, he seemed to sense her mood shifts and would lead her around accordingly. Once her parents had seemed to come their way, and he had quickly changed their direction acting as if he hadn't noticed them coming towards them.
When the time came for him to leave for the night. She had trouble letting him go, he sensed that to although she didn't say anything, but from her body language, for he bent down towards her ear and whispered into it gently
"Don't worry, i won't leave you that soon, it took effort to convince your parents and i finally had to bribe them for them to agree to the alliance, but i promise, within two weeks you'll be all mine" winking he turned away to head out for the night.
Making her blush in his wake, yet no hurt came at the thought that her guess was right, she had been the business deal.
