Manners and behavior comes from home. If parents don't discriminate btw Girls and boys and teach boys how to behave with girls India will be a better place for women. Most of the men are desparate for girls in India because of lack of awareness. From school parents should encourage boy girl friendship and combined activities and not restrict their friendship. A guy who has good relationship with mother, sister, girlfriend will never misbehave with girls.

The question is a what gives a man the right to misbehave with a girl?

A girl can wear whatever she can carry well. Yes we have to be careful but does our wearing western outfits an instigation to rowdies to come and tease us? Nahi it is the sick mentality of them who think just because a girl is wearing a short dress she can be teased.

It is like peene waalon ko peene ka bahana chahiye; chedne waalon ko cheddne ka bahana hai ki she was wearing a short dress usne humein uttejit kiya humne chhed diya

Middle aged women, small kids jinke saath galat harkat hoti hai how do they add to raging fire?

SAACHI WAS NOT WRONG IN WEARING THE MINI DRESS.

SHE WAS WRONG IN DUPING ANANDI AND DADDU. SHE SHOULD HAVE NOT DONE THE CHANGES WITH HER DRESS. AGAR PEHEHNNA HAI TOH GHAR SE HI PEHEN KE NIKLO SO FAMILY KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE WEARING.

I do agree with you, but still in some ways my views too differ.

Short dresses do look good, but the place and occasion does matter. I remember one conversation among Pooja Bedi (who was dressed in a pretty revealing outfit) and Anupam Kher on a chat show, wherein he had asked her if she was willing to walk on the roads of Bihar (no offence to the state) or any other small town? Her reply was no as she was not comfortable. The thing is the way you dress differs from city to city

Secondly still your security lies in your own hands, it always sensible to dress according to occasion and place. Her dress would have looked perfectly alright if it was in Mumbai, but Udaipur is still a traditional place, and on top off it she fooled her family. I am very sure her family would not have allowed her to venture out in that dress late night in that city. So she covered up.

BV is not trying to showcase that wearing Short dresses is bad, but it is asking people to be sensible and honest. You may be comfortable in a bikini, but you will wear it to beaches only and may be in Goa alone in India, beacuse elsewhere you may not be comfortable and want to ward off unwanted attention.

Lastly men who attack women, can do it anytime without any provocation too, so its incorrect to blame women. The requirement for the present society is to educate men to respect women.

There is this interesting thing. The more one conceals, the more one gets curious about. If one bares all, there is nothing to feel curious about!

India has a hot climate and I wish people wear comfortable cotton dresses atleast in summer with chappals. Socks and shoes stink and 3 piece suits, neckties are really laughable for our type of climate. That is why north indians have kurta pyjama and south indians have lungis Sarees, especially cotton sarees provide lots of air. So are comfortable punjabi suits. In winter one can indulge with heavy and tight clothes.

And then everything depends. Pasand apni apni.

And the most favourite thing among youngsters and even oldies everywhere is bermudas, half pants and the like with a comfortable tee.

you know leaves once my teacher told me that neckties is something which we Indians had copied from British and used it insensibly...for British neckties is somewhat necessary because the have cold climate and their summers are more warm and friendly but we Indians copied it and used it for status without even realizing that India does not have neck-tie friendly climate

Well I doubt there was anything wrong with her dress. In such parties wearing dresses of these kinds isn't a big thing. Its all in the mind. A girl can be molested even if she's all covered up and might not be molested even if shes wearing a bikini, coz a crime is all about the psychology of a criminal's mind rather than the object/person on whom the crime is performed. You can leave a treasure box ungaurded and an honest man will not even keep an eye on it whereas a theif will find a way to steal the smallest of ur valuable despite of a dozen locks or guards. So blaming a girl's dress for the way men behave with her is one of the most regressive things we come across in our society.

Though ofcourse Sanchi was at fault by trusting those boys and being in her lala land totally unaware of her sorroundings, but still she cant be blamed for the crime which a man does on her because of his dirty mindset.

I would just want that BV do not support the thinking that a girl's short dress is what can lead to her molestation.Specially if Mr Shivjraj shekhar gets angry on his wife for the same reason it will be butchering of his character.Bcoz he never had a problem when his very close friend wore a similar dress in a village much less progressive than Udaipur. He never advised her to wear a longer dress as its jaitser not london. Will be badly hurt if one of my favorite characters will be spoiled just for the sake of drama.Rather he shud be shown taking a strong action against those men than blaming his sister/wife.

Well I also agree to the point that no one should make advances towards a female without her consent. But that's a theory and in practical short dresses grabs unnecessary attention of the wrong people.

In my view, females should wear dresses which looks elegant and decent, and I believe in western clothes also we can find such dresses. I have travelled many countries and I find people from all races wearing such dresses.

After that gang rape incident in Delhi even in our corporate world we females are sent to "Female Safety" sessions where we are advised to wear dresses covering us properly. Even with a western dresses we are advised to wear scarf just to cast off such evil eyes. A decent dressing sense, self defence training along with presence of mind would be enough to save we females from many such problems.

Its not that a female is totally safe if well covered. But the abusers keep on looking for vulnerable, dumb type of females who can not think of the possible risks. Sanchi is one such example and better to learn from others mistakes.

instead of organising female safety classes why dont corporates..schools n collages organise behaviour n knowledge classes for men and boys ? why r they left scot free ? why r men assumed as hormonally charged animals who will get tempted by little skin show.
They r real curlpits...no matter how much safety we observe unless the mentality changes norhing will help...infact the tolerance level will decrease...today they r being turned on by short skirt tomm they will be tempted by ankle display...or a little hair display...
is there any end to it ? even if we start moving around in portable tents they might still get tempted...so where's the solution ?
Instead of telling girls to be safe...if ppl start telling men to behave till then prob will keep getting worse.
