Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again: First Look Out
Since we know what Balaji Motion Pictures is capable of when it comes to marketing a film, we were not surprised when we visited the sets of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again at Filmcity. The film is set in the '80s, so the makers created a replica of Mumbai in the '80s. When you step inside this time machine, you see a market, a dargah and a cinema hall. The entire chawl set is illuminated and it looks very real with the crowd cheering from the rooftops.
Walk right in and the stage is set for the trailer launch of the film. It was a grand launch attended by director Milan Lutharia, Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Here's what happened at the do…
Milan Lutharia on the film
I made this film because writer Rajat Arora came up with a fantastic story that I couldn't refuse. The first part which was OUATIM, was about power struggle; this one is a love triangle.
Lutharia on the lavish sets
This set-up was an outcome of a team effort and everyone, including the cast, director, producer and distributors contributed to it.
Akshay Kumar on his character
It was easy to go back in time. Before I made my debut in films, I used to live in Sion, Koliwada in Mumbai. I travel back in time every time I visit my home there. I loved the script; it's different from anything I have done to date. Milan is an outstanding director so looking through his vision was a different experience.
Imran Khan on his character
I don't know why the audience thinks I am a 'chocolate boy'. I have done different characters in films like Delhi Belly and Matru Ki Bijlee… and in this film, I am playing a totally new character. I am working with Akshay Kumar, which was a great experience as he is just not a good actor he is very disciplined too.
But to going back to the '80s… I looked up to actors like Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor, who ruled the box office at the time. I observed their body language and rehearsed for my character accordingly.
Sonakshi Sinha on her character
I got to romance two good-looking men in the industry. What else can I ask for? Going back to the 80s' era was too good and I loved the experience.
