The long-awaited announcement is finally here. Shah Rukh Khan’s next action film, King, has set its release date for Christmas this year. The makers shared a minute-long teaser on Saturday, revealing the date as December 24, 2026. The film is directed by Sidharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Marflix Pictures.
Shah Rukh’s son, Aryan Khan, reacted to the teaser on Instagram Stories with a single-word caption: “Baap,” which translates to father in Hindi. The post accompanied the action-packed video, showing Shah Rukh in an intense and larger-than-life avatar, giving fans a glimpse of the scale and style of the film.

Bhaiii you have killed it!” Johar has directed Shah Rukh in multiple films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and My Name is Khan. His reaction reflects the excitement building around the film.
Apart from Shah Rukh and Suhana Khan, King features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor. The film promises a high-octane action narrative, with its Christmas release aimed at drawing audiences during the holiday season.
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on screen in Dunki, released in 2023. In 2025, he received the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Jawan.
