It is an old prejudice that Bollywood has, about their willingness to take from the South but not willing to acknowledge it. The standard Bollywood mindset thinks of itself on top of the Indian film chain and that they are only below Hollywood. I refuse to let anybody else's superiority complex to become the truth. Mumbai's problem is that they assume that if some one has done a Hindi film they will want to move to Mumbai and do Bollywood. In reality, when you see stardom in one place, you don't want to become a newcomer at another place. You have no idea how much fame and money we make down South. We need to crossover within our country.

Wow, just this week I had written something similar to this in the SRK South remakes post. Bollywood and Bollwood meda have never acknowledged and made noise as they love doing so now with the massala films. That's the genre they love giving acknowledgement to.

Lol, from his interview its Siddhu who seems to be suffering from inferiority complex.
I didnt have time but then i did a trash bolly movie, My language movie industry is better than others, Hindi movie frontbenchers are loonies while all tamil audiences are genuine..Blah Blah Blah

Its OK Siddhu, every language movies have their own culture n audience taste and we CANNOT compare them. The definition of good and better is subjective n personal choice.

The thing is that Bollywood has a wider reach amongst Indian audience because of the language factor .. and then Bollywood basically makes escapist cinema which is what entertains a large set of audience because that is what they want to see when they spend money i.e. to forget the difficult real world and enjoy a few hours of entertainment and larger than life experience ..

Unfortuantely, regional cinema gets restricted to a particular region because of the language limitation and a particular culture being reflected in the movies of that cinema ..

Based on this interview, it seems like he has an inferiority complex. I didn't see the need for him to trash Mumbai. Bollywood is fine but why trash Mumbai? 🤔 Other than that, I agree with his stance on independent Hindi films.

although i think siddharth is a decent ish actor, i do believe he has an attitude problem...hes articulate and everything but he isnt "all that" he thinks he is...all the female following down the south and the critical acclaim he got from RDB made him quite complacent...

his recent performances have been pretty lazy and/or cringeworthy...im no tht interested in watching him on screen anymore to be honest...

Siddharth is cute looking and a good actor. But then, I kind of dislike this interview of his. He seems to be bitter about not being able to make it in Bollywood. When he says doing Hindi movies is only his hobby and he is not looking for acceptance here, it reeks of white lie! I am sure he is dying to be able to make to make it big here and enjoy a wider fan following and recognition.
I dont't know why actors are so pretentious.
Whatever else I wanted to say is articulately pointed out by Skepblun.
