Tanveer - ANALYSED

When I think of Tanveer, I just wonder why she is what she is. What is her agenda exactly? What does she really want? When we first found out about her and Imran – I thought she wanted him back (considering she was the one that left him) but he didn't want to as he was engaged to Nikhat. It's then, and after the reveal of her pregnancy that she started to pursue Asad.

Does she really want Asad?

At this point, I would say – not really. Yes, she wants him to marry her for her unborn child's sake, and her reputation but she doesn't really love him. That's the jist of it.

Tanveer is a genuine villain in the sense that she is a villain not for the sake of it, but because of the circumstances and her fight for survival. Charles Darwin said, "It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change." Much like Tanveer who is changing what is happening around her, to get control in this fight for survival. And of course, the person who is preventing this change is Zoya herself, and although at first Tanveer was not aiming to get rid of Zoya, it is only after finding out about her (Zoya's) parentage and how Zoya is a potential thorn in her path (Asad) that leads to Tanveer to eliminate her.

Nothing much is known about Tanveer's earlier life other than that she was Asad's childhood friend and a close neighbour. However, from that point up until the bus incident, we don't know anything about Tanveer and especially how she got her glass eye. At this point in time, Tanveer is a dark horse. What happened to her eye? How did she meet Razia? When did she meet Imran and have a relationship with him? Maybe it's been a little over a month to Tanveer's pregnancy (again, I could be wrong) meaning it was three or four weeks before the bus incident that Tanveer slept with Imran, got pregnant and left him. I could be a little off with the dates, but I think it's safe to say it was around this time, unless someone would like to disagree. And maybe couple of days to a week after that, Razia got hold of Tanveer and got her involved in finding the doll. Perhaps, due to the money Razia was offering, Tanveer left Imran and then found out she was pregnant.

What we do know about Tanveer is that she was an orphan and from this I'm assuming that her upbringing may not have been good. She may not have the privileges that children would get growing up, both materialistically and emotionally considering the lack of parents. Perhaps for money, Tanveer left Imran so that she could secure her future and as soon as she found out about the baby, she wanted to tell him but he was already engaged to Nikhat at this time. Somehow, I feel that Imran was more to blame. I feel as if he hid his relationship with Tanveer from everyone (which makes sense considering in Islam sex before marriage or even dating is prohibited), thus increasing the lack of love and respect Tanveer got. If my theory is right and Tanveer left Imran to get money for their future, then it would make sense why Imran blamed her for leaving him and why he straight away agreed to marry Nikhat (despite Haseena's protests).

One thing I've noticed is that Tanveer never refers herself as "Billo Rani", only "Tanveer". In fact, its only Razia who calls her "Billo Rani" because of her stone eye. When we first saw Tanveer, she was someone with Tehzeeb, innocence and someone of Asad's calibre. She actually started changing when Razia irked her, humiliated her, and nicknaming her as "Billo Rani".

It is said, when someone gives us a name, we start to live up to it. Tanveer was Tanveer until she was forced to become Billo Rani, to avenge herself and to fight for herself. Yes, she's (extremely) wrong in her approach, but right now I think she's being hasty in her actions. Her time is running out (pregnancy wise) and all she knows is to get rid of Zoya, so that she can get Asad, for her own reasons. I wonder how different it would be if Imran did accept her?

Right now, everyone's moves and interactions affects one another. If Tanveer's truth is revealed, Imran's nikaah with Nikhat will break, Ayaan will be free (somewhat) from Razia's plan of marrying him to Humaira, Haseena will be humiliated (by society) and Razia's truth will be outed by Tanveer.

Way more drama in store...

Also this whole thing of her and Asad being such good best friends doesn't make sense. According to the spoilers she's going to tell Asad her ex husband is after her, if Asad and Tanveer were truly such good friends wouldn't he know that Tanveer was married? He's never asked her about her husband, or her parents (if i'm not mistaken, we do know that her mother died, (that's why shes "scared" of doctors) and what about her father?), also why she moved to Australia? If she really did even move. It was Raziya that had her come back to find the doll right? So how did she know about Tanveer and Asad's friendship? and why would Tanveer want to ruin his life if they were such good friends? I just think there are too many loose ends when it comes to Tanveer but they are not tying any of them up. Tanveer gets away with everything, and yes, like you said, way more drama if her truth is revealed, so why don't they reveal it? Why don't they move along with the story? We hardly get to see the main characters, a few mins here and there but its like the're losing the plot.

I don't think Tanveer herself knows what she wants.

She is not planning on marrying Asad because of her child. She is doing it to get back at Razia. To gain wealth through the marriage. If it was for the child, then she would never have met Imran in that previous episode.

Judging by today's episode, Imran does not seem like the right guy for Nikhat. She deserves someone better.

Yes...the story has to move at a faster pace now. Tanu causing misunderstandings is getting old and boring already!!!

hi zahara.normally i skip all the tanveer posts as they all have extremely silly things to say , like tanveer go away and die or whatever. yours is the only sensible post i have read on tanveer.i liked the way you tried to analyse tanveer.she remains a mystery, very little is known abt her and why she is the way she is.we can understand razias villainy, her reasons behind them because we know her history.if and when tanveers past is revealed , her character will start making sense to us.btw, nice post.

Exactly! There's more to Tanveer than what's being shown, either that or the CVs are leaving too many loose ends. About her "ex-husband" I'm guessing Tanveer would say she wanted to forget about what happened or didn't want anyone to know, as in hiding her 'troubled' past. One of the main questions is how does Razia know Tanveer, just like you said! And exactly, if Tanveer and Asad were good friends, and Asad wasn't linked to the other Khan family, then how the hell did Razia know of Tanveer? I just hope Zoya gets her detective skills on and expose her (not only for AsYa's sake, but also so we can finally find out about her past!)

=)

Yeah it's for getting back at Razia but I think it's also for her child as Imran rejected her. And Tanveer did meet Imran for their child =P

I do like her, in some places especially as she unknowingly got Zoya to get possessive over Asad but yes, she's causing too many misunderstandings that seem to be dragging.

Thank you so much!

I agree that although Tanveer is a downright b*tch at times, there HAS to be something behind that. And plus, the CVs did surprise us with Razia's storyline - she killed Zainab because of her relationship with Ghafoor and tried to harm Zoya because she was their illegitimate daughter. It makes sense. But for now, Tanveer is in the dark. As much as I think she's almost crazy, her past is a mystery and I can't really make a judgement without knowing the "why" (no matter, how much I actually dislike her).

It's like I said above, Tanveer only refers herself as "Tanveer" and not Billo Rani, but it is Razia that calls her that. Which shows that Tanveer does not think of herself as the witch or whatever she's seen as, she's just "Tanveer" and right now, she is desperate.
