Everybody from the family has reached the temple to witness Alaka's final punishment. In the Bharadwaj House, Shan tells Meera that she should definitely go to her Mother, otherwise she would be amongst those who had betrayed her Mother during troubled times. Meera tells him that she will definitely go to the temple with Shan, even if it means that she will have to break the promise that she made before Kanhaiyya to Ammaji. Both of them leave the house and head for the temple.
At the temple, Ammaji asks Chaubey Maharaj to start the final act of penance for Alaka. Chaubey Maharaj nods his agreement and Alaka starts circling the entire perimeter of the temple, lying down on the ground and rolling all across the courtyard. Ira and Suli are quite happy. Shan's car stops midway due to a ruptured tyre and Meera and he starts towards the temple on their foot. The ordeal becomes too much for Alaka and she faints. At that moment, Meera and Shan reaches the temple. Meera rushes towards her Mother while Ammaji is very surprised to see Meera there. Shan is also about to go to Alaka but Abhi stops him and tells him that any step he takes there will have serious repercussions, since what had to happen had already happened. Shan stops himself but tells Abhi that the matter is far from over and that the remaining affair will be solved in the house.
Back at the Bharadwaj House, Alaka struggles towards her room. As Meera is about to follow Alaka, Ammaji stops her and goes to Alaka's room. Alaka tells Ammaji that like a good daughter-in-law she had accepted the punishment meted out to her by Ammaji in the Nyaya Panchayat and she bore every taunt that everybody made for the sake of upholding the virtue and dignity of the Bharadwaj House. But if Ammaji accuses her of the mistake as per her heart's desire, then she will refuse to accept the diktats. Ammaji is troubled and tells her that whatever decision she took was because of hr strive to maintain the name, fame and respect for the family's tradition to uphold justice. And she of course feels for Alaka thats why she had come to visit Alaka after her return to the House and she hoped that Alaka would not give her any other chance to feel lowly. As she is about to leave Alaka's room, Alaka asks her that if the same thing had happened with her daughter, wouldn't she be there to protect her and try to understand her? Wouldn't she be responsible for upholding the dignity of her daughter as she should have done in case of her daughter in law? Ammaji is speechless but recollects herself sooner and tells Alaka that while preserving justice, culture and traditions, relations should not play any part.
Later, Meera is getting a dressing down from Ammaji for breaking her promise and leaving the house. Shan comes to her rescue and questions Ammaji about the need of following such customs and traditions which affects people's lives, reputations and thought process. He also asks Ammaji that if Alaka was punished for a crime, then why wasn't he punished since he was also a part of the crime? Ammaji is very angry and tells him that whatever she did was to protect their family's name and tradition and respect and that she didn't want anyone spreading rumours about her daughter-in-law and his other son. Meera steps forward and tells Ammaji that she has answers to each and every questions posed by Ammaji. And the best solution for the happening is to get Shan uncle had her Mother married, so that they can fill each other's lives with colour and get rid of the loneliness. Ammaji is scandalized. But Meera keeps on telling that there is nothing to be shocked about and actually it is time to unite the two together and make amends for the wrong that was done to the two 20 years back. She went on to tell Ammaji that before her Mother married Kumar, Shan and Alaka were romantically inclined. To fulfill the wishes of a dying man, they had sacrificed their happiness and love. Alaka tries to stop Meera but fails to do so. Ammaji tells Meera that she's lying to fool her. She approaches Shan and asks him about the truth of the past. Shan acknowledged that it was a sacrifice on both their parts for the family, while they were in love with each other. Everybody is shocked.
