The first look of the much awaited Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrer 'Ghanchakkar' is here for B- Town lovers.
We list down 5 reasons to watch this situational romantic comedy:
Emraan and Vidya's relationship as a typical husband-wife: Ghanchakkar marks the comeback of 'The Dirty Picture' duo Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. Vidya plays a loud Punjabi housewife to the safe cracker Emraan. Along with her bizarre fashion sense, Vidya manages to speak in a near perfect Punjabi accent. Emraan is playing an amnesiac burglar who lost his memory in an accident and the more he tries to remember, the more he forgets. Watch the movie just for their bickering and you will surely be amused.
Impressive trailer: Ghanchakkar's trailer is a rarity in the sense that apart from the main leads, the supporting cast of the movie also manages to leave a lasting impression on you. The trailer establishes the comic mood of the entire film impressively within three minutes.
Interesting Plot: The movie revolves around bank robberies and lost memories. It is the story of Sanjay (Emraan Hashmi), a suave, master safe-cracker who wants to retire from a career in crime. He decides to team up with two dangerous criminals to undertake one last heist: a bank robbery that will ensure that he never has to worry about money again.
Everything goes according to plan - in the wee hours of the morning, a bank vault is broken into and emptied of its contents of 350 million rupees. Sanjay is given the task of hiding the money till things cool down. Three months later, Sanjay's associates return to collect their share of the loot, but they are horrified to find that Sanjay refuses to recognize them. Is he pretending? Or does he really have no recollection of the robbery and where the money is hidden? Who is conning whom? Well, we will have to wait till June to find out the answers to these questions.
Situational comedy: It is a crazy, quirky rollercoaster ride. After playing performance oriented roles in 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Kahaani', Vidya Balan says she is nervous to step into the unfamiliar territory of comedy with 'Ghanchakkar. Wearing an outrageous black and pink laced corset she tries to seduce her husband with dialogues like "Itni tayari ki hai aur palang todoge bhi nahi?" Not only do Vidya and Emraan entertain us with their mad-cap comedy, but also Namit Das who was last seen in 'Wake Up Sid' catches our attention with his edgy slapstick comic timing.
Enthralling music: Multi-talented music director Amit Trivedi's infusion of flawless compositions is sure to add a quirky rom-com essence to the movie. Also, the "tum toh thehre pardesi" singer Altaf Raja has been roped in to sing a song for the movie. Altaf is singing the song "Jholuram" that will be feature Emraan. Whereas, his on-screen wife, Vidya will be featured in a song titled "Lazy Lad" where she will be seen cribbing about annoying habits of the men. From what we can tell, the background score of the movie has a catchy beat. So we can rest assured that our rhythm and melody needs will be met.
Ghanchakkar has definitely caught our attention.
