Industry run by leeches; Overpaid stars

Naseeruddin Shah's interview where he lashes out on the current state of the industry and how in 100 years Bollywood is way behind foreign movies. Some quotes:

..it is greed for money.. If you get 7 crores instead of 5, how is an ice cream going to taste better. What can you do with 7 that you can't with 5?

.. industry run by lot of leeches who swallow money rather than blood.. Money runs in their veins and they are the ones who run the industry

.. Of the recent actors, Aamir might be the only one whose movies will be remembered after ages. He is a good actor and chooses good scripts

.. Art movie directors were generally dismissive of actors but today are coming around that they are necessary but unfortunately made it 'stars are necessary'

.. Most painful time was when I was not paid especially when there was so much money going around and I got ripped

Aishh, i am not saying bollywood should be like hollywood at all. What i mean is that the work ethic is so much stronger there. The professionalism can be seen a little more strongly then it is in our industry . I absolutely love the movies too , i am just calling a spade a spade.

This is so sad. He is one of the best actors the film industry has ever produced.

The man is just so so bitter!

I'm sure if Shah were offered 7 Cr, he would instead be happy with just 5. The truth is, Shah tried his hands in commercial cinema as well. Tridev, Mohra, Hero Hiralal and countless others. He worked for money as well, he just couldn't cut it. I have way more respect for people like Anupam Kher who are honest about it, to themselves and others. Naseerudin Shah is just an old, bitter bitter man.
