Just then the bathroom door clicked and she came out. She was wearing my T-Shirt and shorts. But still she looked mesmerizing. Her hair was wet and she looked at me with pained eyes. She had gone through a lot since the last few days. But now she had probably understood that I would not let anything happen to her.
"Ms farooqi? Are you Okay?",I asked. Her.
She mouthed a small yes.
Then there was silence as we both stood there, having nothing to say.
Obviously what would I have to say to the singing sensation of the nation! And what would she have to say to a mere security guard. Well, not really, But ya She thought I was a security guard then let it be.
"Asad?",I heard her say.
I turned towards her to see her walking towards me. There was something unusual in her eyes. There was pain but there was definitely was something more. She stood just in front of me. I felt her place her hand on my scar. It was painful but I felt nice. Her touch seemed to heal my wound.
She took her hand away, much to my disappointment. I saw her walk towards the window and open it. I wanted to stop her because it might be dangerous but I couldn't as she seemed so happy looking at the stars and take in some fresh air. She motioned me to come near her. And I obeyed.
We stood there for i don't know how long, just staring at each other. We knew nothing about each other but it felt nice to be in each others company. She finally opened her mouth to say something.
"Asad?",she said in a small voice.
"Hmm?"
"Have you been in love?"
"W..What? Ya.. No. I don't know"
"Think and say"
"Maybe"
She turned towards the stars.
"And y.. you?", I heard myself ask her.
She turned towards me. There was something in her eyes which wouldn't let me turn away. She placed her hand on my scar again.
"Does it hurt?",she asked, concerned.
I shook my head slightly in a 'No'. I had to put an effort to lie.
She leaned on her toes and placed a small kiss on my cheek. I don't know why but I smiled.
"I love you",she whispered.
I couldn't stop myself anymore. I took her face into my hands and kissed her lips. She slid her hands to my chest as I pulled her even more close to me.
Suddenly I pulled off. She looked at me with surprise. I thought I had heard something. I looked outside the window. I could see something shining from the distance. And then suddenly it all made sense. I quickly pulled her behind me and then there was a gunshot.
The next moment I felt a huge pain in my stomach. It was excruciating as the bullet surged quite a few inches into my body. I could hear her shrieks in the background. The last thing I remember was closing the window as everything went black in front of me.
