PART 39

Geet was broken with the news nakul gave. She couldn't believe that maan could move on that too so easily and such a short time, well it wasn't that short for her but still their relationship of 11 months could be forgotten so easily, she couldn't believe.

He looked at her babaji as she said, "wo aisa nhi kar sakte na, I know him' but then maine hi unse promise liya tha ki he will marry' but unko kya padi thi mere promises manne ki'. Babaji bacha lena Is baar, promise I won't ask you anything more"

Meera had seen the restlessness in geet intensifying with each passing day and so did others. Her aloofness and her sadness weren't giving good vibes to others, they even tried to talk with her, but she would snap out on them and then after realizing her mistake would ask for forgiveness which they readily accepted but the reason for change in her behavior was really a mystery for them.

Geet so much wanted to talk with maan, but then she came to know that he doesn't returns home before 10 or sometimes won't even come back too, and weekends he will be unavailable, she was getting worried with the change in her routine, where does he spends his evenings when bank gets close by 5, where he stays on weekends, when bank is open only for a half day on Saturday??? And the only answer she could get was he had found someone for him who consumes most of his time and attention now days so much that he probably didn't even remember that there was some geet too.

It had been another two months, class twelfth was in full force and she was lacking behind horribly this time, not even knowing A of what is taught in class. Teachers were getting disappointed with her behavior but then the way she did well in eleventh finals even after being poor class was the only hope for them. The month of june was on calendar and geet couldn't meet him once. She had even twice bunked her school so that she could stay at home and meet him but those days he never came home even, leaving her more disappointed.

Geet tried to force a smile to meera who came from washroom. Meera saw the paleness on her face and the dark circles under her eyes and couldn't help but feel sorry for her, she seemed to be slipping into a depression with the way she behaved these days. She had even showed her concern about her to maan too, and he got tensed too with that and had asked her to indulge her more into talks and other activities, probably that would help her.

Meera sat beside geet as kept her hand on geet's that were on her lap. "geet I am getting very worried for you yaar, kya hua a tujhe" said meera concerned. "meera you know I am fine, you are getting worried unnecessarily" said geet trying to behave normal, but there wasn't a glow on her face which could be seen even few meters apart.

"geet i am not that good with words and you know it too, so I won't tell you a lecture on how to be fun loving and happy, but somewhere I had realized there is something which keeps occupying your mind, or is it someone geet" geet immediately looked at meera hearing that. "so my guess I right geet, there is someone who occupies your mind, right???" geet nodded her head in yes as she felt meera's eyes looking through her, so intense and confident.

"geet would you tell me his name??" geet didn't said anything, just looked away from her. The last thing she wanted was to involve maan in all this, she couldn't bring his name in front of all, as somewhere it would affect the relationship meera and he shares. "that's ok if you don't want to tell me or anyone else, but one thing I will say geet being in relationship isn't wrong, but losing yourself so much that you don't even have your life, isn't right too. love is one such emotion, in which two different people gels up that they melt into one, yet maintains their individuality too."

Geet looked at meera when she said about love and focused on her to know more about it, probably it clarifies the doubt she has in herself about them.

Geet looked at meera with hope as she asked, "when do you realize that you love yash"

"geet there isn't a set format for realization of love. We are together since we were 6, and in first standard. We had gelled up together due to my bossing nature and his submissive one. We were true friends and had grown up together and seen every ups and downs of each other's life together too. probably 3 yrs back, it was the day when his older brother died, and you know what for the first time in these 8 yrs I had seen him crying. We were together when we saw his car being smashed by some truck that was coming in full speed. For a moment, it felt yash is dead too with the way he had fallen on ground. Somehow we informed his parents and they took him to hospital whereas sent me and him to their house, we were scared seeing such a brutal sight.

Whole day I had stayed with him, and he had just cried lying on my lap while I don't even know what to say or do to calm him geet. I just kept crying silently for him, as I for the first time felt helpless and that day I had promised myself to never go away from him, and that was when I actually realized I feel more strongly for him.

It was 1 whole month and yash wasn't able to come out of that brutal reality and it was then he said he love me and wouldn't be able to let me go away too. pta hai that day we realize one thing, losing someone actually makes us realize the true value of that person in our life."

Who could know better than her, geet thought as she herself realized that after she lost maan, has she really lost him???? She looked at meera, as she saw few tear in her eyes too, which were a rare sight. "why are you crying meer??"

"you know whenever I think about that day and yash condition's, these tears unknowingly makes their way out. How much ever I try, but seeing him in that condition was a worst nightmare in my ife, which I would never like to dream again geet."

"tumhe dar nhi lagta ki you are still young and probably with time yours or his choice will change and this relationship will become a burden for you both" geet said her biggest fear to meera, the one question which never lets her brain in rest' after all the pain of her love loving someone else is the most unbearable one.

"geet that is the same issue which used to bother us, and that's when I talked with dii about this. I told her everything about yash, she was shocked first but then was happy as she knows yash and his family quite well. And you know what she said, wo boli that risk is in every relationship, let it be of mature peoples or be mine, but dar se dar kar jeena nhi chodte to pyaar karna kaise chod sakte hai. aur yeh duniya ek usul pe chalti hai, the higher the risk, the higher the return' agar hamare rishte me darr hai to pyaar bhi utna hi jyada hai aujr utna hi jyada waqt hai hmare pass. To phir us waqt ko in faltu ki soch me kyu jane dena. My dii also loves someone and she had always believed that love just intensifies with time, instead of diluting with time."

Meera held geet's hand as she said, "geet if you love someone then you can't let it go with the fear that his love would change with time. Agar itna hi kamjor ishq hota uska, to aj tum yuh sudh budh gavaye nhi baithe hoti' if he loses the thread of this relationship, then why don't you hold it tight' love never involves I or you, its about we and you have to take it that way'"

"and if you have doubt about your love, why don't you just refresh your mind' let it free from this pain and anguish' just do what makes you lose yourself and then if it still thinks about the happy times with that person, then it is love"

Geet somewhere felt relieved after talking with meera, somewhere the fear and the doubts she had started getting clear, as she actually realized, so what if he wants to move on, still he will try, try till her last breath but if his happiness is in that another women then she will love his love and let go, but till then she will hold the thread.

Meera saw the change in geet's happiness, the glow was returning back and soon she saw geet dash out of the room. Geet ran and ran through the corridors as she passed floors and floors and finally entered her destination, the main auditorium of the college which remained open whole day for students who rehearsed their dance performances for various competitions.

She immediately looked around and ensured that it was fully empty, and then tucking her messy hair in a bun, she wiped off the sweat from her forehead and switched on the music system, which played the song that actually depicted her true mental condition.

She let her mind calm as she made swift and clean kathak moves, dancing on whole stage showing her diwaanapan with her every move. she smiled as the sweet pampering of his flashed in her mind hearing those lyrics and then her own condition now, so symbolic with the song. She remembered the very day when she was to step into the college for the first time and she was so damn nervous, and how cutely he bought her a chocolate, which actually helped her getting calm.

She was going on and on in circles, when her last words to him flashbacked, "aap shaadi karlo" and she actually fell then hitting her knee with the wooden floor badly. She couldn't help to cry, the tears flew freely, uncertain whether because of happiness of actually accepting her feelings or with the pain of causing him so much pain, yet she know she can sooth him and she will, as much as she can.

She kept her hand on her chest, as she tried to control her racing heartbeat and that's when her eyes fell on the calendar that hung on the wall beside her. She didn't know what to feel as she saw the date tomorrow, 8^th june, the day he made her his, completely and ritually too, their wedding day, how could she be so lost to even not know that its june and tomorrow I her first wedding anniversary, the wedding which she always declined yet always tried to use her right on him.

Next day, she bunked the school and around 9 reached home, hoping to find him atleast this time somewhere she knew he will be here today, she will meet him today atleast. She was about to open the door with her set of key, when she found it already opened. It means he is here, he is here today, here heartbeat raised with the excitement of seeing him today, after 6 months 25 days.

She looked at the red flowers which she plucked herself from the garden, fresh and beautiful. She slowly opened the door to give him a surprise and moved to his room with quiet steps and opened the door slowly only to get the biggest shock of her life. The flowers fell from her hands, as she held the dupatta tightly in her fist looking at the sight in front.

There he was sitting on bed hugging a girl tightly hiding his face in her neck. The girls hand was around him, as she held him tightly.
