Part 4

A few days after the case, Riya was in her cabin. She stood beside the window that overlooked the main road in-front of the ETF office. She was looking out, but not seeing anything. She was lost in her own world. In her past. In her Sanjana. She was remembering all the moments spent with Sanjana. Good moments- her birth, her first birthday, her first festivals, everything, reminiscing her memories. How happy she had been. How happy everyone had been. Her perfect world. Blown away by the tornado. A tornado that destroyed their lives, and took their most precious treasure- their Sanjana. She still remembered seeing her angel's lifeless body. Her closed eyes, the mud-marks on her clothes and body. And, oh, the pained look!

"Riya, she had been abused before she was killed..." Lisa had said, "She went through so much!" and broke into tears. Shree pulled her to him and consoled her. Armaan and Riddhima, too came out of the Forensic Lab in tears. Anger, helplessness and guilt clearly visible on their faces. Riya and Arjun, who outraged and immensely hurt by the news of Sanjana's death and had vowed revenge and Justice for their daughter, were confused.

"MERI BETI KO MARA?!" Riya said through gritted teeth. "No Riya! Osse maara nahi tha! Jo oske saath hua vo osse bhi battar tha!"

"Par abhi to tumne kaha k ose abuse kiya gaya tha!" a confused Sameer spoke up, "Ab tum keh rahi ho k osse maara nahi!"

Suddenly,

"NO!" a horrified Aisha spoke up.

"Nahi!! Lisa kahin tum... nahi Lisa please kaho k ye sach nahi hai. Sanjana sirf 5 saal ki thi! Nahi, aisa nahi ho sakta! It can't be true...!!!" Sakshi yelled. The boys, not getting any of it, just stood confused.

"Ye sach hai Sakshi. Os AADMI ko JAANVAR ki maut marna hoga Riya! Humaari Sanjana ne jo saha oska ehsaas ab osse bhi hoga!"

"Lisa! Kya keh rahi ho?! Saaf saaf kaho!" Shaleen cried out.

"She was SEXUALLY ABUSED!" A livid Riddhima cried out, "she was raped!"

A shock went through all of them! Armaan, Riddhima and Lisa, who had conducted the autopsy knew it before but they still felt had jab of pain hearing it out loud. While the girls broke down, the boys stood shocked. None of them moved. It was like they were statues.

She didn't know how long she stood there, lost in memory land. But she came out of her nightmare-land when she felt a presence in her cabin. She turned around and was surprised to find, not one, but five people.

Riya: Tum sab kab aaye?

Sakshi: jab tum apni duniya mein khoyi hui thi. Ab kaisa feel kar rahi ho?

Riya: I am fine!

Aisha: jhoot tumhe bolna, na to chahiye, na hi aata hai. To koshish bhi mat karo!

Riya: Pata nahi yaar. Oss bacchi ko bacha kar maine kahin na kahin Sanjana ko insaaf to dilva diya. Magar mujhe abhi bhi aisa lagta hai k Sanjana ka man shant nahi hai!

Riddhima: Aur hoga bhi nahi. Riya tumhe pata hai, jab tak tum osko ek shant man se yaad na karo aur apni zindagi ek happy nahi sad Riya banke jiyogi, tab tak Sanjana ko shaanti nahi milegi. Iss waqt Sanjana ka man nahi, tum shant nahi ho!

Shree: Ri, main jaanta hoon k kehna bahut aasaan hai, aur karna bahut mushkil, magar please, humaare liye, Sanjana k liye, move on! Please Riya. Yahan hum sab ko teri zaroorat hai.

Riya: main yahin hoon!

Lisa: Nahi Riya! Tumhaara shareer idhar hai. Man nahi! Aur jab tak tumhaara man nahi aayega, tum nahi aaogi!

Riya: main kya karoon? Vo meri poori duniya thi! Aur ab mujhe nahi pata k main oske bina kaise jiyon?!

Sakshi: tu Sanjana k bina nahi jee sakti? To tu aise banke rahegi? Shant aur dukhi aatma?! Sanjana k liye? Riya, Sanjana humaare liye bhi otni hi pyaari thi jitni tere liye. Aur Arjun ka bhi osse vahi rishta tha jo tera. Pita the vo Sanjana k. Agar main, Shaleen, Sameer, Aisha, Armaan, Riddhima, Shree, Lisa, Chotu aur khaas karke Arjun! Agar hum oski yaadon ko zindagi ke sabse haseen lamhe bana sakte hain to tu kyun nahi?! Aur Riya tu ye bhool rahi hai ke ek maa hone k saath saath, tu ek behen, ek dost, ek officer jaise roles bhi nibhaati hai. Aur khaas kar ke ek patni, ek pyaar ka! Arjun jitna tujhse aur Sanjana se pyaar karte hai otna shayad hi koi karta hoga!

Riya: main jaanti hoon! magar...

Sakshi: Magar kya Riya? Magar kya? You know what? Arjun is shattered! He is broken and he needs you! But you are here! In your world! NOT CARING ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND! Who NEEDS YOU MORE than you need him! He has lost more! His daughter AND HIS WIFE! Who, from the time Sanjana went, has been oblivious to the suffering her husband is going through. Riya, aise waqt mein pati aur patni ek doosre ka saath dete hain. magar tere case mein sirf Arjun ne tera saath diya hai! TUNE NAHI!

Saying this, Sakshi angrily storms from the room, leaving the other four- Aisha, Riddhima, Shree and Lisa- shocked and forcing Riya to think back on the last few days!

Knock knock! The sound of knocking brought Arjun back from his own memory lane.

Arjun: come in!

They door opened and he saw his wife enter.

Arjun: Riya tum..

She held her hand up for him to stop speaking. He immediately shut up. She came close to him and held his hands in hers. She looked up straight into his eyes.

Riya: Arjun, pichle mahine mein humaare saath bahut kuch hua hai. Humaari duniya perfect se disastrous ho gayi. Hum dono ne apni life ke os sabse anmol heere ko kho diya jo humaare pyaar ki sabse badi aur jeeti jaagti nishaani thi. But abhi vo point nahi hai. Point ye hai ke tumne iss poore part mein, apna dukh dabaa kar mera dukh baanta. Mera dukh kam kiya. Mere dil ke haal ko samjha, jaana aur sambhaala. Aur tumhaara dil? Tumhaare dil ka kya? Tumne mera dukh mujhse le liya aur apne dukh ka zikar bhi nhi kiya? Kyun Arjun? Kyun? Tumne apne pati hone k saari duties nibhai. Magar main bhi to tumhaari patni hoon na? mujhe mera hissa karne kyun nahi diya? Kya main itni buri hoon?

Arjun (who had tears in his eyes): nahi Riya. Tum is duniya ki sabse achi patni ho. Main bas tumhe aur dukh nahi dena chahta tha. Tumhe dukhi nahi dekh sakta main!

Riya: magar meri khushi to tumhaari khushi se hai buddhu! Tum dukhi hoge to kya main khush rahoongi? Tumhe nahi pata. Tumhaare chehre pe dukh dekhkar meri jaan nikalti hai Arjun! Main nahi dekh sakti tumhe dukhi!

She bends down on her knees and holds her ears.

Riya: I am sorry Arjun! Maine sirf tumse support liya! Tumhe oske badle mein support diya nahi! Mujhe maaf kardo! Please! Main vaada karti hoon k tumhaari har baat maanongi!

Arjun bends down to Riya's level.

Arjun: tumhe mafi maangne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai jaan! Jo hua vo halaat ki vajah se hua. Magar meri ek baat maanlo! Please Riya. Main jaanta hoon k kehna aasaan hai magar karna mushkil! Magar..

Riya: main jaanti hoon Arjun, tum kya kehna chahte ho! Magar Arjun, main vo already kar chuki hoon. Oss din jis din humne Sonia ko bachaaya tha, maine to Sanjana ko ossi din aazaad kar diya tha! Aur mere dil ki bechaine ki vajah humaari doori thi Arjun, Sanjana nahi. Main tumse door nahi reh sakti. I love you!

Arjun closed his eyes hearing those words, all the pain washed away by one simple 'I love you' from Riya. He wanted to cherish the moment forever. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at his beautiful wife. She smiled her dimpled smile and suddenly, the world became a much more interesting place to live in! He lunged forward to capture her lips. He kissed her gently yet passionately, pouring his love and happiness at having got HIS Riya back into the kiss. She responded with equal passion. They kept on kissing for what seemed like hours. But finally had to break for some air. But still they didn't leave each other. They kept on kissing each other's faces, necks and shoulders. Then Arjun captured her lips once again, this time deepening the kiss and showing her his desires in the kiss. Riya broke the kiss.

Riya: Arjun! Ye ETF ka conference room hai!

Arjun: I don't care!

Riya: But I do! Agar koi aa gaya to?

Arjun: Aane do!

Riya: nahi! Chalo ghar chalte hain! I'm sure bhai kuch nahi kahenge!

Arjun groans and then leaves of Riya. They grab their stuff and leave the ETF office and make their way to their car. They drove to home hand in hand. They rushed inside, once home and went straight to the bedroom. They had been really apart during the last one month and had missed each-other dearly. Now, they were back together and it was the time to show how much they had missed each-other and how deep their love went! Arjun closed the door behind him and both got lost in their world. It wasn't perfect, as Sanjana wasn't there. But, she would live, in their hearts, in their minds, in their memories! And whatever came, they would face it, TOGETHER!
