She sat down on her seat in her cabin and closed her eyes, remembering the nice moments she had spent. How happy her life had been, beside them. The two people she loved the most. More than her life. The three of them had a perfect world, with its imperfections. But cruel life had played a game once again, snatching away one and leaving the two heart-broken. Snatching the happiness and their peace. But, all was not lost. She had vowed the moment she had seen her, to give her justice. Not to leave the culprit without giving him the pain she had endured. But, alas, life had taken away that chance too. And now, she was here, thinking, if she would be able to do her justice?
She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. A man kneeled before her and cupped her face.
"Hum ose insaaf dil vayenge Riya. Trust me!" the man said.
"Kaise Arjun?" Riya replied, "jisne oske saath ye kiya vo to khud hi mar gaya. Ab hum ose inaaf kaise dil vayenge? Main osse kiya vaada nahi poora kar payi Arjun. Nahi kar payi! I am a very bad mother! Meri beti k saath jo hua, na to main ose rok saki aur na hi ose sahi kar payi! Main ek bahut buri maa thi...!"
Saying this, Riya got up from the chair and ran out of the room. Arjun stood up and followed her to find her. But she was not to be seen in the corridor. He ran to the washroom but she wasn't there. He went to the conference room and peeped in. he saw five people sitting silently but Riya wasn't there. The people were so lost in their own thoughts that no one even noticed him. He left the room and went to all the rooms but Riya was nowhere to be found. Not seeing her anywhere made him worried. He thought about the possible places where she could be but came up with places where he had already been. He decided to check once again but then decided to look at all the places once again. He went back to the conference room to ask if anyone had seen her. As soon as he entered, ten eyes met his expectantly.
"Kisi ne Riya ko dekha hai?" Arjun asked them.
"Dekha hai ka kya matlab? Vo to aap dono k cabin mein gayi thi na?" a panicked voice asked.
"haan Sakshi, vo humaare cabin mein gayi thi. Maine osse baat karne ki koshish bhi ki but vo bahut dukhi hai. Vo apne aap ko kos rahi thi inn haalaaton k liye. Aur phir vo vahan se chali gayi..."
"Aapne ose roka nahi?" another voice asked, interrupting Arjun.
"Rokta to tab jab vo mujhe dikhti. Jab main cabin se bahaar aaya to vo corridor mein nahi thi. Gayab hi ho gayi. Par pata nahi kahan gayi hai kyun ki maine poora office dekh liya par vo kahin nahi hai."
"Aapne terrace dekha?" a third voice asked, a female voice.
"Haan, shayad vo thoda akela time chahti ho? Aur terrace per gayi ho?" this time it was a male voice.
"Armaan, Riddhima, vo usually teraace per nahi jaati." A voice said, confused.
"Magar Chotu, usually osse akela time bhi nahi chahiye hota!" Arjun said.
They all looked at each other for a minute and then all of them rushed out. They ran to the staircase, not bothering about the lift. They ran like maniacs upstairs and found the terrace door open. They went out and found a lost Riya staring into empty space.
"Sir, jaake dekhiye vo theek hai ya nahi! Osse baat karne ki koshish kijiye. Shayad oska man thoda halka ho jaye." Chotu said.
Arjun tales a step forward but a hand on his shoulder pulls him back.
"Nahi Arjun," Riddhima says, "ose thoda waqt do. Osse is gham se khud obharna hoga. Varna vo kabhi aage nahi badhegi. Let her be."
"Riddhima sahi hai," Armaan said. "Riya ko apna dukh bahar nikaalna hoga. Varna vo depression mein bhi ja sakti hai."
Arjun took his step back and all of them just looked at Riya from behind. After a while, Shree called Armaan to ask them where they were. Armaan told him the situation. Shree-Liza and Sameer-Aisha also came up. They stared at Riya helplessly as they saw her drown in her own misery. Suddenly Riya fell down on the floor. They all stared at her and then ran towards her. Arjun reached first and straightened her. He pulled her into his lap and called out for Riddhima and Armaan as they both were doctors.
"Armaan! Riddhima! Jaldi aao! Dekho isse kya hua hai!" Arjun called out.
Armaan and Riddhima came towards her and bent down. They checked her and both looked at each other. They gestured something to each other through their eyes and became a bit worried. Arjun, being the super cop, noticed this.
"Armaan! Riddhima se kya keh rahe ho?" Arjun said, "Mujhe batao. Baat kya hai?"
"Arjun, vo, pehle Riya ko room mein shift to kar do!" Armaan says. Arjun and the rest of the team shift Riya to Arjun and Riya's cabin. They come out and Armaan says, " Arjun, Riya is not completely out of shock. Iss aadmi ko zinda pakadke Sanjana ko insaaf dilvaana bhi Riya k recoving process ka shayad ek hissa tha. Shayad Riya k sub-conscious mind ne isske baare mein ek image tak bana li thi. Magar ab agar vo os accident mein mar gaya to Riya ka dimaag shayad isse apna failure manta hai. Aur iss wajah se shayad vo phir se depression mein ja rahi hai."
"to kya hume ose phir se rulana hoga?" Shree asks.
"Nahi Shree. Ab case aur complicated hai. Ab tak Riya k mind par sirf ye guilt thi k vo apni beti ko protect nahi kar payi. Ab ye guilt bhi hogi ke vo apni beti ko insaaf nahi dila payi. Aur ye guilt pehle se zyada hogi. Infact, osse rulaane se bhi koi farak nahi padega. Mere samaj mein to ye nahi aa raha ke ab main kya karoon?" Riddhima said with a sigh. Armaan saw the defeated look on her face and pulled her to him. He rubbed her back to calm her and she, in the safety of her love's arms, let her tears fall down!
