warning: long post.
this is not a bashing post. i believe in constructive criticism. contestants on show are real people with some likable and unlikable traits, they are not characters of daily soap, who can bashed as per story line. everyone has right to state their pov, so here is mine ...
i no longer think masterchef is a fair cooking competition. this show seems to be not just scripted, but badly scripted and flaws are evident way too much. and it's not just on khoku's elimination, it has been there for long but now it's crossing limits...
but they can't fool all the audience .. i am afraid they must have already decided the winner and already decide eliminations. 😕
i don't know if MC could be better if it moves on to some other GEC from SP.
may be i don't like SP at all, so won't mind that in future. 😉
it was building up since long so here is what i think of MC so far...
week 1: i am watching it since episode 1 and i was excited for season3. auditions went well. but here also thing which i did not like was, some contestants were given so much coverage and their full story was shown while some others were shown in just bits and pieces. and some contestants who also got selected, their dishes were not even shown, leave full audition. i would have liked it more if they had given equal coverage to all contestants, like many other shows.
anyways, not a major concern. i continued watching.
week 2;i think boot camp week was best in MC3 so far. i liked all the tasks and at least to me, it looked things are going on fair. liked the way contestants were selected and others bid good bye. and also liked many dishes that week.
To me, MC3 started to look promising.👏
week 3: non elimination week. liked the way things got started, tasks were good. but what i didn't liked was the results. the dish made by yasmeen won in task to prepare non sugar desert while showing it clearly to us that ingredients used had sugar. on top of it promoting the dish to be for diabetics in sunday episode, which is NOT.
my 1st disappointment with judgment. 😔
week 4: decent one. liked it. what was shocking was ishrat's elimination. as already discussed both navnnet and ishrat were in same position with one component of dish not upto mark. ideally, either they both should hv been eliminated or their should hv been a competition between these 2. but judges took decision based on task completion.
okay, accepted ... but not satisfied with things 😒
week 5: decent start. then it had cake challenge, i don't know why but i found it all staged. eg, while initial 5min to decide for task, happy and sachin said they will hv different flavours for different tiers, but during the task, when chef kunal asked him, why he said only elaichi and dalchini and cracked lemon joke? and enough has been said on cake burning which got burnt on top that to twice.
then came jehan's elimination, okay, he wasn't performing well since long but why only his family was called on the day of his elimination. was his elimination planned even before the task?
show started to look staged to me. 😳
week 6: punjab trip week was a disaster week, it was everything but not masterchef. 1st challenge reminded me of roadies, dhabha task, less said the better, reminded me of The Apprentice. and sorry but here judges lost credibility in my eyes or task designed was good enough to select MC. and the way dhabha was shown it looked all scripted. one reason, no one who eats in dhabha is generous enough to pay 1000 for 300.
then sachin's elimination was kind of predictable. but then that whole episode looked confusing. main task was kulcha, that no one saw, focus was on other things.
so punjab trip week was flop show for me and biggest disappointment as it was more of annoyance. 😡
week 7: so far khoku's elimination. which i think is unfair because nobody would like to eat under cooked dish, burnt dish over a under flavored dish, sweet dish. her dish was said to be spicy in between and later it became sweet?
another thing about navneet, he always makes mistakes and is always saved but this girl, made one and is out.
just my pov, some others might prefer otherwise in selecting dishes. isn't it that under cooked dishes or unfinished tasks were getting people eliminated. so why rule was broken for her??? 😲
had enough of it, so for me this season is off season. 🤢
so this was final nail to the coffin. and i said good bye MC3, i will not miss you. 😉
can't take so much of drama presented to us in the name of reality. while watching reality show with real people, we expect realistic things to be shown not otherwise.
