A well analyzed post 👍🏼.The show has become more or less like that of a daily soap which has lost credibility in the eyes of viewers. It seems the trp race is taking a toll on the show with lots of dramas, shoddy editing and badly scripted.Yesterdays episode was an apt example of creatives running out of ideas with weight being taken as a criteria 4 forming a team.I found it ridiculous with the contestants having 2 get themselves weighed in front of national television .Didn't they get any other criteria 2 form a team 😕.The Punjab trip was a total disaster. The dismal editing and scripting was more evident .SP has commercialised this show and thats where it started 2 err with contestants and judgements seeming far more scripted 2 fit into the trp race.

Wonderful post and well written. Thanks a lot for your efforts in putting down all the points, what many of us wanted to say in such a great manner. Agree with you on all the points.

The most disgusting part of this season was the arrival of the television actors.Koku's elimination surely seem planned. They eliminated,Ishrat in the earlier rounds saying she didn't complete her dish. But when came to this round they eliminated koku on the grounds of taste;whereas navneet dish too was not up to the mark. Devyani's dish was not fully cooked(isn't it equal to not completing the task.?) Atleast the chef's must realize that they are loosing their respect by agreeing to the gimmicks of star plus.It is surprising that they are agreeing with them, when they are very well established and successful in their own right and don't need marketing by star plus to prove their worth.

TM i agree!
I lost interest this season due to this entire show look unrealistic, im a daily cook in my home so i can easily tell thgs that dont look right, burnt cake epi was most ridiculous coz any person who has baked b4 will know what went wrong 1st time n not repeat same mistake, new oven is not an excuse!

plus, this entire show is shot in advance, winner is picked but they have confidentiality agreement not to disclose info!
did public voting happen? if so, it still makes no diff due to above!

I agree on some points, differ on the others.
I'm still hooked to the show maybe because I'm less observant and didn't find all the flaws that you mentioned until I read your post.
What was really annoying about the show was the TV actors coming in randomly. That week I was definitely pissed off with MC. However, things improved the next week.
The punjabi Dhaba round looked staged. But at the end of the day, it was nice seeing something different. But agree, the decision wasn't fair that week.
Regarding the eliminations, I was shocked with Ishrat's elimination, but she was over confident and that led to her downfall. And jehan's and Sachin's elimination was fair enough. They were weak compared to others, but yes, I do feel they shouldn't have invited Jehan's family on the day of his elimination. I found it distasteful to see him disappointed in front of his family. No body deserves it.
Khokhu's elimination was a shocker too. But at the end of the day, she did mess up and it is fair. Afterall, you are judged on the basis of the performance on that particular day.
But I don't agree with you regarding why Devyani was saved. According to me, in any dish, taste is more important. You mess up the taste, you mess up everything. In Devyani's dish, the outer covering wasn't cooked well, but the inner taste was good and judges did appreciate it.
overall, there might be all this TRP drama added in extra, but I as a viewer won't mind it as long as they don't overdo it. My verdict, I'll still watch the show till the end.
I'm no great cook and shows like this has inspired me to cook. This entertainment is better than watching BV show on the same time slot.

very well pointed out. clear favoritism is shown or this rigged competition seems more evident and i hate the fact more that even the judges of such caliber agrees to be a part of such SP gimmicks. Sad but they are putting their own popularity at stake ...

@ Red - more like their credibility is at stake.

Agree with most of your points, except one 😈 I still believe Navneet's team lost due to underpricing. Regarding, Doyal screaming & various sloppy work by Yasmin's team, well we've all come across such things while eating out, some time or other.

And it's a fact that SP always takes its viewers for granted with poor planning, deteriorating production values, lousy scripting & poor execution. Money n trps are all that matter any more.

Noadays, I'm just watching MCI to pass the time. Anything else comes along on another channel at the same time I won't need to think twice before abandoning this.

The issue is also with the 8 O'clock time slot.. I started watching MCI-3 because of 2 reasons -
One - the earlier seasons had been interesting and that this season continued with Vikas Khanna...
Two - the other show on colors at this slot (read BV) had gone so much downhill after the lead character replacement that it was very easy to give it up!
But the way MCI is going, even I am not sure how long will I continue watching it..
Even today, if there is a more interesting IPL match starting at 8 pm - I end up watching that for at least 50% of the time of this 8 PM slot!

Punjab challenge was disaster as you said. Don't even wanna talk about "celeb" episode, cudn't bear that crap even for 5 min.

With every episode it has proved that it is a badly scripted show, at least they should make it believable.

@bold ... yes, everyone's interest is decreasing as show is becoming crappier day by day ...
all i can say to SP is at least get better script writers, directors and editors if they can't do a fair competition at all !!!!!

well, we all can agree to disagree ...😊
good for you if you are hooked but yes, i am a keen observant not just of TV shows but of many things 😈
yes ishrat was over confident, jehan sachin deserved to out but IMO all contestants selected have certain strength and weaknesses, and they all deserve to be given a fair chance to survive with how much they can hide their weaknesses and show their strengths and not by zeroing out on elimination before, than how will you call the competition fair? 😕
well, about khoku, all i can say i would not like to see a contestant win or lose, how much do we know them to decide on that, whatever opinion we form on then is just based on what SP show us with editing that too to suit it's daily programing. But i would like to see a dish win or lose not contestants, then only things will look fair.
i don't know how much do you cook, but try preparing a 2 dishes, one flavored under cooked and other cooked but no khatta in chutney. and judge it yourself. opinions can differ, nothing against you ...
and why i raised that point is, i don't follow all the international formats regularly but what i know is, it's usually a under cooked dish which looses. 🤪
correct me if i am wrong.

I respect your opinion.
For me,the show never looked staged or unfair. And so far all the eliminations were done based on a contestant's performance at that particular task.
/My most fav was Khoku though I also like Aditi and Nisha, Happy and Ripu. I was really sad to see her go, but I still think the judgement was fair. If contestants who performed good consistently are getting eliminated, the fault lies in the format of the show and not on judges who have to judge and eliminate people based on one particular task.
For me, even with Khoku eliminated, the interest in the show is intact. I will pray that she comes back as a wild card entry.
