Saurabh has done a variety of roles in his career
but mostly his role as Vishnu in DKDM stands out
and i dont quite think he is "type cast" in it...
people will only ask you to do the same role again and again if you are THAT good at it
and Saurabh honestly is the only i think in todays time who fits the role of Vishnu/Krishna perfectly
maybe due to body language and comfort in speaking pure hindi
even my Mom said that Saurabh has the aura-almost near perfect to that of what you would imagine Narayan to have...

thats my POV
people only ask you to do a role again,if you are that good
so in a way its a compliment!

after all actors will play some or the other role this one or that one. since he's extremely popular in the role of vishnu/krishna y not continue with it. ultimately what matters is satisfaction for an actor.
i dont think he's getting type cast he was in parichay n then in ut. n playing lord vishnu/krishna is actually a nice thing. very few lucky ppl get to play such roles. its way better than playing a rapist(which he was made in ut) or a -ve mean character.

Political expert of that tym.
Pandavas won due to him
he is main sutradhar.
And if isee the amount spend by ph n channel and promising promo
show is too gud to say no.
If he was playing vishnu in every serial
like jjmd where i saw almost half cast of dkdm
i would have agreed wid u.

I actually liked Vishal Kariwal playing Lord Vishnu, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna in Dwarkadish. I also like SRJ also.

I think he's just lucky to play such roles and be accepted by the public and to be honest who in their right mind would turn down such a large role such as krishna even if you played it before. This time it's Mahabharat and it looks like they have put in the loads of effort into the production so why on earth would he turn it down if it has chances of becoming a hit show. Krishna has different shades in Mahabharat so it does give him scope to develop further.

After Nitish Bhardwaj, i felt Saurabh is superb in the role. He has that serene and naughty look.

Gurmeet - Ramayan - Lord Vishnu, Lord Ram - didn't get him typecast-ed.

SRJ
Jai Shri Krishna - Lord Vishnu - Was a minor Role as show was about Bal Gopal ( Little Krishna)
Devon ka Dev - Lord Vishnu, Narasimha Avatar, Lord Ram - Minor Role compared to Lord Shiva
Mahabharat - Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna, ( Maybe Lord Ram, and other avatars)
Lord Krishna Role ( Lover, Enchanter, Warrior, Teacher , Strategist , Guide)

SRJ will get play all these roles on a show where he is the lead actor to show off his skill playing some of the avatars and changing personal in the lila that he will perform.
I think this would be a ideal path for him as playing a character where he can play more than eleven different persona.

As each avatar
Lord Vishnu = will be show talking to Goddess Laxmi either in Vaikunth or Sheera Sagar
Matasaya Avatar - may see some more detail but it more CGI
Kurma Avatar -may see some more detail but it more CGI
Mohini Avatar - Will be some lady to play this.
Varah Avatar - May some him in custome
Narasimha Avatar - May show him turning into Narasimha avatar - Angry Persona.
Parashurama - Avatar - May show him as Parashurama.
Lord Ram - They may show this avatar for couple eps.
Lord Krishna - Murli with sudama.,
Lord Buddha - May show him at the end but i doubt it.
Lord Kalki - May show but again i doubt it.

Dwarkadish - Vishal Kariwal is popular due his role in Dwarkadish because his portray of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna and Maurli, )

As I mentioned in the Mytho Masti thread on the Mahabharata serial, I thought that Krishna's role should have gone back to Vishal Karwal, who did a great job as him in DBSK. Saurabh has more of a presence in DkDM than the guy who plays Brahma, and would presumably be playing the roles of Rama (which he did previously in the serial) and Krishna as well. So it would have been good for someone else to have been used there.

Last what heard was Vishal is busy looking for movie roles. Yes yes does have more of presence but again he is not lead in Devon ke dev. Where in Mahabharat he would have lead role in Mahabharat and this role we chooses to mainstream.
