I apologize, I don't agree with the topic starter. This competition is about culinary skills and in my understanding, vast knowledge of culinary science. Just making a few dishes which probably I can also do is not enough for Master Chef title. It needs more which only a few of them have but not Khoku. If it about Daal bati kind of cooking then, may be you are right. Personally like this person, and hopefully she does make the dishes as tasty as the chefs are praising her for.

BTW- Do you think the chefs are praising her for camera? If so, doesn't this apply to others like Ripu and Doyel also.

She is indeed a powerhouse of talent... I have a strong feeling that she will be there till top 3 but will not win... Though I am supporting her big time!

All previous MC winners have been more all round packages, who after winning have gone on to have their own cookbooks, cookery shows, appearance on other other shows etc.. Given all that, someone more rounded off will be the choice of CVs, I think..

Ripu has a very strong chance to win this time.. And that will be fair as well!

I agree, hence why I mentioned she isn't really 'marketable'. But well I will be glad however far she goes.

I will try to answer by giving a specific example- In the pizza task, Ripu was praised and so was Doyel. It does not surprise me as I feel they have basic knowledge of ingredients, different kinds of cheese and are blessed to have resources to have had tasted the pizza. Once you know the taste and the ingredients very well, you can manipulate the recipe as per requirement of the task. When Khoku is praised for the same thing, it is hard to believe, yes I agree that she could have cooked a good one, but then its by hook or crook and not because she knew what the food science is. If Khoku was still home cooking for others but had the knowledge of food, I would have had probably less concern on the focus on her by the channel or on her winning or staying in the competition. I am not rating her in my mind because she is not as elegant as many other contestants or previous winners.

Khoku and Ripu are my favorites although if Ishrat was still there she would be up there too but it's early days yet and we have yet to see how they handle different world cuisines.

I really hope khoku wins she is so calm and nice cook.
