Wow so she was helped by Balraj's father but if Balraj's father brought her to the house when she was a kid then she must be not much older than Balraj 😕

Well, I guess it would depend on when Balraj was born. Akhil mentioned she raised both his father and uncle as well. Perhaps they weren't born till a few years after she was brought into the household. Plus Balraj is the younger son. So if Akhil's father was born after Biji was brought to the house and Balaj born a few years later, and the mother dies soon afterwards... it would make sense that Biji looked after them.
