National Vs Regional Movies

I am talking about collections precisely..
i mean everyone is talking about 100cr club movies in bollywood,and I just come to know that regional movies( Read telugu and tamil) also grossed more than 100crs.Infact wiki says robot(tamil) is the highest grossing indian cinema till date😲How is that possible?
Doesnt Bollywood movies have wider audiences than any regional films?How come they are raking so much amount?
The latest is telugu film baadshah collected 50+crs in 4 days while himmatwala turned dud.
Is that because fans their watch movies repeatedly or something else.

they are more movie manic than north indians for sure.

South films do well for sure because of craze among audiences for regional films. But they cannot come close to big BW films. The figures are probably exaggerated for South films to make them seem as big as Hindi films.

The audience in the South love films as much as the north, so why would films not make a lot?
