| Keeping the strike: Salil Acharya playing cricket on the sets of Kituu... | Life on the sets of Kituu Sab Jaantii Hai has surely changed for the better. The occasional remark of 'not doing much' has transformed into 'who's scored the highest for the day?' That's because these days everyone on the sets of Kituu…, including the crew, play cricket whenever they get some free time on the sets. And their leader is none other than Salil Acharya aka Indranil, who has been the key factor in getting everyone hooked on to the game.
Amit Verma aka Rohan in the show, says, "Even I am very passionate about cricket and it is not that we didn't play cricket before, but we did so indoors. After Salil joined and saw us playing, he was overjoyed. He urged us to go outdoors and play. Salis is an ardent cricket fan and is always looking around for someone to play cricket with him."
Salil says, "I am actually obsessed with the game. I wanted to be a cricketer, but that didn't happen and I became an actor. Be it gully cricket, women's cricket or even club cricket, I enjoy watching them all. So whenever we have free time on the sets, I can't control myself from playing cricket."
Salil further adds, "Initially, we started off playing the game to practice for the scheduled match between the cast of Kituu… and Aisa Des Hai Mera. Unfortunately, the match got cancelled. However, it became a habit for us. And I must say, most of the guys here are very good players. We have even formed a team of 11 players with three extras. Even our director Rajesh Ranasinghe, sound engineer and even Ami's spot-boy play with us these days."
As for Ami Trivedi aka Kituu, who doesn't know how to play cricket, she is happy being the umpire. |
