A habit inspired by one of my all-time favourite TV characters (let's avoid mentioning who though), I tend to say 'What the..?' as a reflex action every time I am taken aback seeing something. But I am not the only one with reflexes I can't control. Our SaMud seem to have the same issue and because of that, I had two such 'What the...?' moments while watching today's episode:
1. When Saras pushed Kumud: He obviously didn't mean it. He was just so engrossed in what he was doing, or trying to do anyway, that he didn't even realise when he reacted the way he did. Once it dawned upon him, he was beyond horrified. What followed had me smiling away like an idiot. It was so heartwarming to see Saras nursing Kumud's wound. Is it just me or was he about to burst into tears any moment? That tends to happen when there is too much going on inside us. Kumud has arisen emotions in him he didn't even know he was capable of feeling. And now that he does, he's probably having trouble managing them all together. I was also extremely touched to see how he was also feeling guilty about physically hurting her in the past. I had a power outage for a few minutes so I don't know if we got a verbal apology but I can see why Kumud is so much into his eyes. He might be pathetic at saying stuff out aloud but his eyes are like doorways to his heart. They so clearly spoke of how sorry he felt.
2. The firmness in Kumud's voice when Dukhbaa was badmouthing Saras: 'Badi Maa!' I could sense a warning in her tone. Of course, she recovered almost instantly but for that spur of a moment, she almost forgot who she was talking to. All she could register was that the person was about to say something against Saras, which she couldn't tolerate. Specially when I extend her reaction to the precap, she is obviously hurt by how much Saras is being misunderstood by the village and wants to do anything in her capacity to clear his name because he is the last person who deserves to be thought of as a sinner. It is frustrating her to see him being penalised and to add to that, Saras refuses to listen to her about telling the truth to everyone. For someone as compassionate and as fair-minded as she is, she won't be happy till justice is attained. And if someone can help a Saras who doesn't want to be helped, it's Kumud 'coz in the entire show, she is the only one who can cut his stubbornness with her own.
