This symbolism hit me very late and I don't think I've assumed wrong here but what seemed like the ordinary and typical supersitions in today's episode actually signified something very spiritual. Kumud was sitting in front of Radha and Krishna with the diya alight but soon after it blows out. In the viewer's mind, we would typically think something bad may happen to Saras. Sometime later Kumud drops the milk from her hands...again bad luck and we think Saras has been hit by the car (well those who don't know the future track). But surely that's way too simple and cliched?

The diya going off in front of the Krishna and Radha idols was significant because the 'gai maata' played an eye-witness to their immortal and divine love. 'Gopala' is another name for Krishna as it means 'protector of the cows'. He tended to these cows who were his devotees. Since childhood he played his flute to them. The diya diminishing expressed Krishna's distress and grief. Milk spilling...the milk of the 'holy cow'.. all over the floor came right when the gai must have got hit by Yash's car symbolising a bad omen...it's death.

I knew you'd make a topic! One of my favourite topics of yours, my dear. You know my initial reaction was to laugh because I thought it was quite typical but oh how I was wrong!! I think these little details itself show that this isn't just another typical TV series after all.. seriously amazing job by the directors/writers for executing it so well. The milk spilling was my favourite part for some reason though... LOVED IT!!

Reemz, missed reading your stuff!! Yes, the symbolism was pretty blatant and outstanding. And yes, it's truly the little things that add up and make the show so wonderful! The milk scene was executed so beautifully. And I absolutely loved the back-and-forth screen shifts they were doing. It also was a form of foreshadowing in my opinion.
