A/N: BG Tune is the song "Truth of Touch" by Yanni.

The music of the concert was booming loud into her ears, as she made her way to the entrance with her ticket tightly clutched between her fingers.
It was her favourite Music Composer, Yanni's concert being held in New York.
God! Only she knew how much she had controlled herself from squealing in delight in her office, and also not shout out to the world that she had finally got the chance to be a part of this beautiful night.
Yanni was her best friend Afreen's favourite composer and she had taken an instant liking to his compositions, since she is a big fan of instrumentals. Her iPod consisted of infinite instrumentals rather than lyrical songs.
She believed in rhythms and beats, rather than words.
Affy couldn't come because she was away in another country with her fiance shopping for her wedding.
Zoya felt bad for not able to join her in the fun, but she already had applied for leave for that particular week when her best buddy was getting married. She couldn't ask for more holidays, as it is her boss was not a forgiving man and would definitely cut her wages off for the next 6 months if she continued taking holidays like this.
And Affy had wanted to stay back just on the pretext of taking care of her best buddy, but Zoya had made up her mind and pushed her... practically kicked her out her apartment to make her go with her fiance, having no other choice. A giggle escaped as she remembered Affy's shocked face. Shocked would definitely be an understatement for the way Affy was looking at her. Poor her!
But she was ecstatic on finding that soon there would be a concert of Yanni right here. And she couldn't believe her luck when she got the ticket to attend the concert. Her heart had jumped so high that she thought it would never come back down. That was where she was for the past few days. And she had resolved to finish off all her work, that was due next week in order to enjoy her weekend.
And here she was, being checked of any metal pieces or most probably bomb, before she was allowed to go inside, with her eyes rolling heavily at the jerks, who called themselves security guards.
I mean, like really? Why would we be carrying weapons to a concert so Holy and Divine and beautiful and loving and that made even the hardest of diamonds melt in it's heart touching rhythms?? Idiotas! Stupidos!
It had been announced worldwide that a new Piano player would be introduced in this show, with a composition of his own.
That was a double ecstatic moment for her, as Yanni always chose the Best and had the Best.
The musician's identity had been a secret for too long and she longed to see his face.
Yeah, she was sure it was a he, because Yanni had by mistake revealed that very much needed information and she couldn't help but smirk delightfully at the screen as she replayed Yanni's slip of tongue.
Suddenly, she felt a cold chill running down her spine, as she came closer to the stage, which definitely was just a few feet away from her.
Of course, she had won a VIP ticket. Her luck couldn't get luckier.
But it was odd to see herself winning one VIP ticket. VIP tickets were expensive. Damn, it always cost a fortune and this time Allah had been by her side and blessed her with a ticket to a concert she longed to attend.
She looked around as she saw people hustling - bustling in and around the area for space and good view. She had the perfect view, of course and wouldn't leave the place for not even a second. Not even to go to the washroom.
Again the same chill appeared and she felt the goosebumps forming on her skin, as she looked around again. Her eyebrows furrowed, as she remembered the same reaction she used to have when someone used to be near her.
She let out a chuckle as she remembered who it was.
Asad.
Her smile turned into a painful one the next instant. Why was she remembering those painful memories again?
They had met, fought, hurt each other, sometimes cared, but then as she had tried to decipher her confused feelings, something happened that had changed her life forever.
ZOYA!!!!
She was thrust forward, and she felt her whole front skidding at the rough gravel of the road as she heard a loud screech of a vehicle, and a crash.
Her head turned to look at a sight she was horrified to ever even dream of.
The truck had been overturned and was on the other side of the road. While there was a traild of blood in the middle of the road leading to the opposite side of the road.
Why was there blood?, she wondered. Then suddenly she gasped as it all came back to her.
Asad.
"ASAD!!!" She screamed, as she tried getting up, but fell back down as she felt her legs numb. She tried moving them but she just couldn't.
Her breathing turned to short gasps, as she struggled to breath even in small amounts.
Lifting her head, she saw Asad's form lying lifeless, with his head turned towards her, and eyes closed. Tears stung her already wet eyes, and she blinked as she let out a sob. Blood was splattered everywhere, and Asad's face was covered in it.
She longed to go near him, touch him, feel his heartbeat, hear and revel in it. She longed to know that he was okay. Was he even breathing? A gasp escaped her mouth. Allah!! No!! Don't do this to me! Don't do this to Phupi and Najma!! Please! I beg of you! I will not let you die, Asad. Never!!
"Asad!!" her voice came out like a broken recorder. "Asad!," she croaked again. "Get up Asad!!," she willed her knees to push her forward. "No, Asad!! You can't die!!," she cried out as she saw no movement from his side.
"ASAD!!," she yelled, as she her arms shot out to catch hold of his arm that lay spread away from him. She shook him as hard as she could. But it looked like she was shaking something non-living.
"Asad!!," tears wet her cheeks again. Sobbing, she tried again.
"Wake up, Asad!!," she cried again, as she pulled herself to him. Her hand reached up to cup his face tenderly. "I-- I am here, Asad!," she whispered, and placed a small kiss on his shoulder. "Please wake up! For me!," she shook his face, to wake him up, get him back to consciousness. "Wake up, Asad!," she growled loudly in pure anger. "You are not going to die!! Not in front of me!! Not ever!!! Wake up, you Jerk!!," she poked him hard on his chest, and elbowed him and even slapped him hard across his face. But he made no signs of even blinking those closed eyes.
Help! I need to look for someone!, she thought as she pushed herself up from the ground. The sudden movement, made her weary as her knees shook, and her eyes felt like they would black out any minute.
Gritting her teeth, she pushed herself forward with her heels digging into the gravel, when suddenly she found herself on the ground, as a pain of a sickening crack somewhere in her back, shot through her whole body, making her immovable.
And as she hit the ground with a thud, she felt her eyes drooping, and lay there defeated, not having anymore courage to fight the absorbing pain, that dissolved her soon into a blissful, painless darkness.
The roar of the crowd pulled her back into the reality, the present she was living in. She sighed and squealed at the sight of Yanni walking up the stage and addressing the crowd of New York and the world.
The first song he played was Nightingale.

The touch of Chinese rhythms made her breathe properly and deeply, as she practically inhaled his piano keys' rhythms and felt her heart dancing softly to the song. The flute and the violin made her arms go up in a manner to hold her imaginative partner in her arms and sway softly in her mind's ballroom.
The second song was Rainmaker.

The crowd whooped as the tango like beats emerged from the depths of his keyboard and swayed their hips to the lady's soft voice, matching those to-die-for drum beats and the unusual sound of the native instrument.
Zoya couldn't quite place the name of it, but she knew it was from Australia or New Zealand something like that. Or not. Who cares? Right now, just have fun!! she thought as she closed her eyes and swayed herself and turned her head from one side to the other with closed eyes as she imagined herself doing the tango.
And suddenly the Harp guy started singing in an unknown language. But it was worth dancing. A smile curved her mouth, as she repeated after his chant.
The third song was Nostalgia.

The soft rhythms slowly picked pace and started their unforgettable chant to bring back the memories so nostalgic, so loving, so cherishing that made Zoya close her eyes and play all thos cherished memories like a movie.
Her breathing turned ragged as she saw only one face coming to the fore.
Asad.
His smile which was of course Rare but Genuine.
His husky voice that never failed to entice her every time and crave for his voice to say something more.
His ebony eyes that spoke volumes to her, even if he never opened his hard mouth that were covered with those big lips.
His face that lit up all the time he saw his mother and sister near him.
His arms that he enveloped her in in the most difficult times she had ever been in.
His hands that caressed her with such tenderness when they were in a moment too special to break. In a bubble too sensitive to even touch, in fear of bursting it.
His chest on which she had laid her head numerous times when distraught, when in pain and when happy.
His legs that made him taller than her, and even faster in running when it so happened that he had catch up with her.
His personality so hard yet soft at the same time, that made him all the more lovable, adorable, and sweet and sexy at the same time.
Arrogance was his middle name, but yet Adorable would find a way into that name, making her wonder if she even knew this man. Or would he always be a puzzle to keep on solving till her last breath?
Last breath..
Her eyes shot open the instant the song ended and as the crowd broke into a loud applause.
She looked around trying to get her bearings, and let her hands fall to her sides, as she wheeled to the front and stared at Yanni's calm face and let his words wash over her like pure crystal clear water that spoke nothing less than divinity.
The Storm.

Her fingers drummed as the violin started.
And then the magic began.
She always closed her eyes and imagined the Birth of a Phoenix.
The way it flew high up and down to touch the waters with its powerful claws.
The way way it flew to the mountains, highest of the highest and twirl in its majestic form.
And just as it reached the top, the limit of the limitless sky, it would spread its wings and shine like a glorious being. A blessing of Fire and Warmth and Light.
And the next second it would swoop down with such speed that if you blinked, you would miss it. A blink and a miss. As it would cut through the air with such unmatched speed, you could feel the body of it turning to ashes and as it would come to a sudden stop, you could see it crumbling to the ground into a heap of ash.
The air, water, earth and lightening would blow, tread, vibrate and strike simultaneously making the ashes swirl and slowly take the form of the beautiful being she first saw.
Slowly the tail would swing, the body would shake, the wings would flap, the feathers would ruffle and the head look up in all it enlightenment and glory.
And as soon as the ashes would form the Phoenix, it would flap once and reach the topmost level of the horizon and spread it's wings ever-so-slowly and raise its lowered head and shine in it's full Glory, blessing the Universe with it's Light, and Warmth For the Time to come and Beyond.
Zoya smiled softly as she heard the main violinist played an extra rhythm to give an effect she longed to hear all the time.
She watched Yanni sit on the small seat provided and say, "Ladies and Gentlemen. The time has come for me to introduce you to my new Pianist, who is not only my student but a dear friend, whom I have come to love and cherish. He is a brother to me and my family. His composition will be played next. He told me once that Words are not Important. It is the Actions. Yes, we all believe it to be so. But he said it with so much conviction that made me realise that it definitely is very true for him. A touch has a lot of Honesty in itself than words. The eyes have so many things to share more than what your mouth can put into words and share. Volumes the eyes speak, Silence the ears hear, and Rhythms the Heart Beats. The Truth of Touch, my Friends, by my dear Friend and Musician." He raised his hand to the blinds of the stage to welcome the new guy. "Please welcome him with a huge round of applause!"
Zoya raised her hands to applaud when suddenly her bag was knocked down from her lap.
"Sorry!!," she heard a kid say. Looking up she saw a kid not more than 4 years of age, looking at her with wide eyes that held a sincere expression. But those eyes were so full of mischievousness!!
A smile made its way into her face and she pulled the kid's cheeks. "It's okay, boy! What's your name?," she asked sweetly.
"Zaki!," the kid giggled as he leaned back to pull away from her hold.
"Zak Sir?," she heard a man's voice say from her right. Turning, she saw 2 men clad in black suits like that of Secret Service come up to her and look at her with a glare. She could feel their cold stone glare even through those dark tinted Wayfarers of theirs.
"Ma'am." The sudden soft voice surprised her as she looked up again with question in her eyes. "Sorry for the interruption," he said, as she looked on perplexed when he turned to stand in an ease position and face the stage.
The rhythms flowing from the huge speakers by the side of the stage pulled her attention and she smiled, forgetting the confusion, until she felt her hand being tugged at her side. She looked down to see Zaki pulling her arm.
"What happened, Zaki? And who are they?," she nodded at the two men standing on either side of her with uncertainty.
"Oh, that is Mark and Paul! My dad's security," Zaki smiled at the two men and looked back down at her.
"Oh," was all Zoya could manage as she stared at the two with uncertainty again and back at Zaki.
"You know you look very much like my Mom."
Zoya laughed and dropped two kisses on each cheek of Zaki before saying, " Oh really? Where is your Mom?"
Zaki's expression turned gloomy as he looked down at her lap, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
Zoya instantly felt bad, and said, "I am so sorry, Za--"
Zaki looked up with a smile cutting her off and dropped a kiss on cheeks as well.
Zoya looked on wide-eyed and started tickling the poor kid, till he was breathless. The kid started squealing in delight and started laughing, as the crowd roared again. Zoya guessed it was the new guy coming onto the stage after that break.
She realised that she hadn't been able to see the man's face twice. Once when Yanni introduced him, and now when he was back after the break.
Zaki started clapping his hands in delight and cooed while facing front. "There is my Dad!"
"What? Where?," Zoya asked as she craned her neck up to see any man standing in front and looking their way. But she frowned when she saw no one there and turned to Zaki, " Where is he?"
Twitching his lips, and shaking his head in negative, he outstretched his arm and pointed in front and said, " There he is right on the stage!" And started squealing delightfully as the notes began to flow through the speakers.
The entire audience had fallen silent, letting the new guy take his time and start off with his new composition that Yanni had so much lovingly announced of.
The way he described the man and his words wrenched her heart as she knew that somehow she could relate to the man.
She could feel that the man had lost someone dear to him or something like that and his words had held that pain.
Her eyes looked on at the back of the man, who was starting to turn to his side and settle to continue playing.
Then suddenly her heart beat started ramming in her rib cage. The winds changed their direction and started caressing her in a very familiar way. Her breathing became ragged, as she blinked to get her insides in control.
She had never felt this way. And the notes.. The notes.. The notes started repeating, bringing one memory that she had cherished for so long back into her mind's eyes.
She felt like she had been knocked out of breath as she looked on from the distance, at the man, whose back was to her, playing the keyboard softly.
The violin filled her with infinite warmth as she smelled a scent she had thought she had forgotten a long while back.
Wood and Cinnamon.
Swallowing hard, she willed the man to turn. Her lips parted and closed in uncertainty as she again willed Allah to make him turn to face her.
"I'm afraid he won't be able to regain his memory. This is a severe case and we can't risk his life just to get back the memories."
She stared into the distance, as she sat on the bed, unable to move. Those words tried to sink in as she tried to control her brimming eyes from spilling those tears.
Why, Allah, Why? Why him?? Why did you do this to him?, she looked up and yelled in her mind, accusing God of cheating on Asad by erasing his memory.
The next few weeks went by with her still on bed recovering from the accident, not able to meet Asad, who was resting in ICU.
The doctors had told her to wait since her spine was being operated on from time to time to get the desired results.
And then she decided. She wouldn't stay here. She couldn't stay here. There was no reason for her to stay here. There was no one to remember her.
I am sorry, Asad, she whispered to herself, as a fresh batch of tears spilled onto her cheeks, that had become paler than ever and lost their natural blush.
"I Love You... But I guess we are not meant to be..," she whispered as if telling it to Asad, but mainly to herself, as she willed herself to pack her bags and rush back to where she belonged.
She belonged in his heart and she knew that, but he didn't remember her. Nor would he ever remember their moments of fights, care and that special something.
Hell, I don't even know if he liked me that way!, she wiped her cheeks again and again as she sobbed harder and harder.
"We were never meant to be.."

This is my first OS written on my New Laptop for you guys. Loads of Love and Hugs for you guys!š¤ ā¤ļø š¤ ā¤ļø
Don't worry there is a continuation of this, which will come later this week only if I get a good feedback. I don't know if this is worth your time, because I wrote this in a hurry to finish it off and complete my pending homework. This also may be utter crap, so don't hesitate in telling me so. I have been wanting to write something for so long and dedicate it to my 2 best buddies, with whom I haven't been able to keep in touch for some time.
NOTE: The description I have given for 'The Storm' by Yanni is what I actually imagine. What I have described is just an extract of what my Imagination weaves. I dream more than what I have described. I have put my tastes of music here in Zoya's character. It was fun doing that. I love Yanni and his songs are like a drug to me.
