So quite a few people mentioned Asad's coffee scene today with Tanveer..I just wanted to throw out my take on that!
"Tere Bin Sanu Sonya
Koi Hor Naiyo Labhna,
Jo Deve Ruh nu Sakun
CHUKE JO NAKHRA MERA"
Like always, Asad is in the garden at night, lost in his thoughts..don't know for sure what he was thinking about..but I would like to believe that he was thinking about Zoya...when Asad was intoxicated, didn't he say that "Kyon ap meri tanhayoon mei khalal dalti hain?" ... Maybe Asad was a little bit sad because he yelled at Zoya and thats why he went to the garden on purpose thinking she will come and try to talk to him and then he can show her all his Nakhra. He just wanted to see Zoya by his side after all that happened today! And even if he was only gonna give her the cold shoulder in the garden, he still wanted Zoya to be there with him! The way he reacted with the coffee mug clearly showed that he was very much expecting Zoya. He wished Zoya to come there and do her shayarii, bring him coffee, and pacify him. He knows that Zoya is the one..."CHUKE JO NAKHRA MERA". He looked a tiny bit disappointed that it was Tanveer and not Zoya.
"A gentle response defuses anger..." (Proverbs 15:1).
In my opinion, Asad wanted Zoya to come and use her sweet words and try to calm his anger. Asad knew that Zoya's soft words will turn away his wrath. Asad knows that Zoya is quick to forgive and she doesn't hold grudges. If she can forgive the slap, yelling would be forgiven easily! It almost looked like Asad wanted to forgive Zoya for the cylinder incident but he wanted Zoya to come and explain and make him understand that it was a mistake. Asad was so ready to talk to Zoya that he just started speaking without even looking at her..and once he looked, it was Tanveer..sad face! Asad knew that he shouldn't have shouted at her but I am pretty sure that his ego overpowered him and made him think that Zoya did the wrong thing and she should come and apologize.
Mr. Khan may deny it but he loves the attention that he gets from Zoya. He pretends to avoid her but he loves her company. He wants her around him. Asad secretly acknowledges Zoya's presence. Asad can't even imagine Zoya away from him..that's why he gets all crazy when Zoya's life is in danger. Once Zoya leaves the house, we will surely witness Asad missing Zoya scenes..he might finally get the earring out as well :)
"A man's [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]." (Proverbs 18:20,21).
Asad says lots of harsh things..(he doesn't really mean those things)..and he ends up eating the fruit of his mouth (we have seen it happen very often with Asad).
In yesterday's episode Asad told Ayaan that he knows Ayaan didn't mean the Sautela bhai part and that it was just a word vomit because of his anger. Asad knew that Ayaan didn't mean anything that he said not only because Ayaan is his brother but also because Asad can relate with it...Asad also always loses control of his tongue in anger!
Asad's word vomits always remind me of a scripture in the Bible...
"Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison." (James 3:2-8)
Asad's character teaches us lots of things but the biggest thing that I am learning from his character is the power of words/learning to control my tongue!
"Careful words make for a careful life; careless talk may ruin everything. Irresponsible talk makes a real mess of things..." (Proverbs 13:3,17)
Zoya has time and again forgiven Asad and will continue to forgive him but I am pretty sure that it will be hard for Zoya to forget Asad's hurtful and unkind words! Asad tries his best to guard his heart but he has forgotten to guard his mouth which is gonna create problems for him in the future!
I truly believe that behind this hard-hearted; cruel; pitiless; unfeeling, and rude Asad lies a man who is like any other guy who loves to be loved but has fears/other issues in his life that stop him from opening up to love.
Zoya is a light in Asad's dark world. She's changing Asad in ways that he doesn't even realize. For a guy like Asad to fall in love with a girl like Zoya in itself is the biggest possible change!
