Oh my in this day and age how can they show the hero & heroine send letters. It's so old fashioned *giggles* Right. What next? Let's bash the whole show because of that and the fact that heroine has 'fallen in love' just by seeing the eyes.

Are we watching the same show? The writers smartly established that ratnagiri has ONE computer and the Internet connection is very slow. Now it may be very DIFFICULT for us tech savvy users to understand this but there are many villages and towns which have hardly to no Internet connection at all. A big city like Rajkot has Internet cafes but they're very slow and very few homes have the Internet at home.

Why don't the two call?? Well SC isn't even interested in contemplating a relationship forget directly talking to her. If FANS can send boxed gifts with letters to their favourite CELEBRITIES (though they've never met) then why can't saras and kumud write letters to each other? Is it truly harming our lives if the hero-heroine write to each other? The letters in the novel are really integral to the story and one letter in particular which has a lot of soul and I don't think a printout from the computer can give the same effect. It wouldn't do us much damage if we accept that there are some parts of the novel SLB wants to stay extremely loyal to.

Another matter of amusement is that Kumud has apparently fallen in love with the eyes (eyebrows?! Or whatever)...! When did she say she's in love? Don't forget she hasn't said yes but she couldn't say no either. Those eyes make her curious especially because she dreamt about them the night before. You know how some of us drool over the body of our favourite actor and start to phangurl over him? Well Kumud is fascinated by the eyes, she's drawn to them.

omg I love you Reema!

I said the same thing today about the letter bit. That they clearly showed today that there's only one computer in the village LOL. And please even though we live in this century, many villages are still not upto date with the technology we have today. Saras emailing Vidya Chatur or Kumud would seem very off, especially when a picture takes forever to load onto the computer. It seems so stupid.

Also for those who haven't read the novel, the letters, as Reema pointed out are a IMPORTANT part of the story. It's the way Saras and Kumud's love grows as, in the novel, they only physically saw each other once. Kumud is not in love, but she's merely infatuated atm, esp with the fact that Saras completely matches the man of her dreams. And her dream even indicated that today.

Lastly, what's wrong with sending letters man. I think that is a important element in a love story of this kind where you're adapting stuff from a story. You need to be true to the story and do justice to it. Moreover, the episode showed a justified reason for the letters.

I love your post!!!❤️

I actually liked the fact that they are writing letters. Mailing is not an option as they said the server was down and will be for a few days and she doesnt even have his number to call him. Even if she had his number, i dont think she would have gone to her father asked for his phone as she obviously doesnt have her own and called saras. I have not read the novel but read the summary on a site which clearly showed that the letters were an integral part of the story. It will be great if story stays true to novel because sometimes while changing the story to modern times the story losses its essence.

Kumud has not fallen in love. She clearly said that she has not said yes for the marriage its just that she could not say no. Even if she has whats wrong? If we can fall in love with our fav actor/actress eyes, smile etc. then why cant she?

I agree with your post! Sending letters is much better than emailing. People are complaining about the stupidest stuff.. Just chill and enjoy the show :-)

I absolutely agree on the letter issue. Exchanging mails just don't have that soulfulness which writing letters does. It's so much more romantic. That aside, you've already explained the logistics of why a letter would work better.

Love is a very strong emotion and maybe Kumud in not really 'in love' with Saras yet but she does feel an unexplainable connection to him. She saw his eyes in her dreams and that meant something. Soulmates, huh?
