Oh the people of India,

Please send an appeal to the Ganga Maiyaa and the mighty Bhramaputra to flow through your region where you originate from, if you are serious about music, if you consider music to be a religion and if you want your vocal chords to be nourished from birth. 😊.

In this thread, we are discussing the east factor. So when you have detailed out the "EAST FACTOR", I have just disagreed to a limited extent with you that not just EAST, all what you write is prevelant in the south.

Yes Priya I got it. Every zone has its own culture and they are all special in their own way. Why divide Our nation into zones, Indian music is the best. Best part in this forum is we all are music lovers.

I agree with you that voters from all parts of the country have the right to vote and the ones from the east are probably doing it max and it is by their choice.

I was pointing this out to negate any impression which may or can be formed that it is only the EAST which breathes music, but the South is equally if not more popular for its musical lineage. South by itself has not expanded its musical lineage, particularly, in the Hindi film world, for god knows what reason. Films like Bombay, Roja, Saathiya (Alaipayuthey) demonstrate that the music of the south indian (tamil) films with hindy lyrics are also a hit and these songs are based on a carnatic based raaga as well. But it is not as much as the Bengali influence, which we all readily agree and accept.

I agree, South by itself has not expanded its musical lineage. We can see some popular numbers from Dil se by A.R Rehaman. G8 Job. Its my All tile favorite.

Thanx Adi for reminding me this point 😛 let me tell yu an incident Shubham. one day around 3pm i was going to behala in bus. we were passing a house and on the second storey there a person was seated reading newspaper. one gentleman in the bus passed a remark there. "when does this dada goes to the office? everyday when i go to the office at 11am he is sitting here and everyday whn i am comming back frm office this time (it was 3pm then shubham) he is sitting here in the varenda."

yu wont find any post offices outside the main kolkata city opening before 11am. that is the state of work in the govt offices here.

getting back to the original discussion.. i feel the main reason for this east connetion mainly of getting so many votes frm east is...

East (tht includes NE too) has possibly the maximum unemployed but talented youth with loads of free time to get addicted to TV.😊 yu talk to them and yu will find they hav good knowledge about music and so many other subjcts. but yu ask them to go and work.. sorry thy prefer sitting at home watching tv or sitting roadside in some tea stall and talk on these subjects.

Well, check out the number of bandhs in kolkata, any newspaper and you will get atleast a part of the figures and statistics. Its true.

The general thinking is they are way too good for the private sector jobs and these sectors exploit workers in the name of providing work. "I wont be anyones slave" is the motto...well this is not an allegation but a summary of what i understood after speaking to a couple of these plenty of time in hand, educated men once while i was there.Sorry to say two out of them is distantly related to me...

Moloy for your information yes it is the truth. Eastern India has the maximum number of unemplyed youth. That is the statistics provided by TOI.

And Adi not just this. One more thing let me add. I know one person who has done MCA and is working at out lab as Lab Attendent getting mere Rs 5000/- appx. It was a temp. job and so got over after 2 yrs contract was over. He was jobless...

We talked to a private sector company gave him a chance for a job there with pay 12000/-. He had to join there company at Delhi. The fellow refused. Reason I want to do a job where by I can stay at home. Ghar ka khaana kha kar kaam par jaane ka mazaa hi kuch aur hai. That was his remark. And this is being followed by many here. I have heard many parents and also youths saying the same.

There are lots of specific incidents that I know where people from other region in India (non eastern region) play the role of servant in big private organization by bring baby food for manger's son/daughter after office work to keep their manager happy (which is simply oiling to keep higher salaried job). But it doesn't make sense to bring any such specific incident to open a new debate to prove the people from such and such part of India doesn't want to work or work by loosing their self respect. Bringing such specific incident will excel the regional fight more and more, which we don't want (that's what so many people in this forum also want).

Please don't generalize something based on specific individual observation. This is just a request for all parts (East, West, North and South) of people from India.

I agree

looking at how far the current discussion is from the intended object of debate, I cannot see a way in which something positive can come of this thread

dont want a regional warfare to start here😒
