the thing is simple , there is not enough public toilets.
For india or neighbouring countries, a lot of people inhabit the city who are plainly labours or low-income-class people. They wouldnt get an access to shoppingmall or other public places where they can access to a toilet. Even in some public toilets , tolls are taken for using it. So, in many cases, they actually have no where to go to take a leak. for that, they'd rather answer the call the natural free way.

true...the facilities are not provided...and if you do happen to find a facility that is clean...you have to pay for it (whilst it's ok for most of us...why would a labourer pay to do so? he has better things to do with that money...like buy food)

I'm glad service stations now have toilets...that are clean...well Reliance does....😆 coz on our road trips....i HAVE to GO....So Reliance is like my KNIGHT in shinin armoor!😆😆😆

But in the city...there should be facilities there...i mean i can understand the village and stuff...but come on....if you live in a city...shudnt there be proper facilities? Coz it's disgustin and FOUL....

but thing is...

i think the whole issue that should be discussed as well is the whole "unashamed" act of just openin ur pants just about anywhere

i mean, if you're gonna do it...and theres NO facilities...at least go do it in a discreet way

DONT just stop and 'water the wall' in front of a shop or wat

it's disgustin

LoL, this is the same as men touchin their private parts in public....argh!!!
😆

Thats bitter reality. Male Labourer will not pay but then as you pointed out female labourers do find discreet locations, not that its right act.

MCD has constructed public toilets but they are either at wrong locations (as found by a recent study by an NGO) or they are non-functional or dilapidated or plain stinking hell.

Great article Bhilwara , so its an issue everywhere.

haha, i think if one's gotta do it then watering the wall might not be a bad idea. after all, the view is impeded and apart from side-shots, there's not much to go by. no?😆

I remember one time my hubby went to Dallas for some conference and he said he was stuck in traffic and then he saw one driver getting off his car to "relieve". He said that was first time in US he had seen someone do that in public....but with someone else giving example like this I think it boil down to strict enforcement of law. Civic sense is more or less same in all human it's just that you need someone to punish you when you do such behavior.

Thats funny 😆 but de-toxifying anywhere is not. Besides the toxins may harm the wall or the poor trees must be asking God why didn't you give us mobility? The sight is definitely 🤢

haha, but seriously if the choices came down to "holding it in" or providing an ungainly sight for the sightseers, what should one do? yaar, we still dont have all those malls, cineplexes and highway restrooms all over the place unlike out in the west. ab kare toh kya kare? walk for over an hour over all those pot-holed heavy roads till we come to our friendly residential neighborhood and knock on the door? 😛😆

You have very rightly pointed out. Yes there is paucity of toilet blocks. Its imp to relieve also thats fair enough. But if only men cld exhibit control and discipline like women it will not only avoid us the ungainly sight but also cleaner walls and trees.

And then efforts be made to pressurize the MCD to stop pilfering the funds and build the reqd facilitites.

What can we as responsible citizens do to change the attitude/mindset and improve the conditions?

like Singapore does for sum things, throw them in prison and impose fine
have volunteers counsel these public enemies
