And we are back...!!! I breathed a sigh of relief and watched the CVs go about clearing the check list of audience queries. I watched the familiar depiction of reactions and emotional trauma in the aftermath of the blasphemous slander tossed at the head of the family in public. Needless to say I enjoyed the episode today.

Faith is a light of such supreme brilliance that it dazzles the mind and darkens all its visions of other realities, but in the end when we become used to the new light, we gain a new view of all reality transfigured and elevated in the light itself...

Suraj Pratap Scindia is an iconic figure...revered both by his family and by the society...a man who lives for his principles and morals and honor and would die for them. His family and the society are in awe of him. His image and persona are their inspiration...and they trust him implicitly for no wrongdoing. Yet all the eclat...all the brilliance...could not hide one dark truth of his past. One alliance from the past has come to haunt him and he finds his reputation at stake owing to a woman's word. Now the question is, would such a man who live and dies for honor ever willingly indulge in an act that would jeopardize and shake the very ground he takes pride of? He certainly knows the woman and he also knows that he never did anything wrong morally. Whatever guilt he is showing is because he hasn't declared the nature of their relationship...but then SP would never offer explanations to anyone. His ego and sense of his self would not allow him to. SP doesn't owe anyone any explanation...period. No...not even to his wife. It should be enough for his wife and children when he says that he has no liaison with the mother/son duo. He has been given the place of a Godlike figure in his family. He expects blind faith...and he gets it, again. Gayatri questions but ends up feeling guilty about even doing so. "You see she forgot her place...she is more a devotee and less a wife who deserves equality and transparency. Her husband is her God...and God's ways are never questioned."

SP is very sure he has not sired any child out of wedlock and goes confidently for the DNA test. That and the fact that The lady in question was in much discomfort because of how the situation turned out is indicative of the fact that there was an exchange of two boys...one hers and one his...of which SP is unaware of.

This brings me to The Lady. A couple of facts stand out: First, as Yash questioned, why was she in hiding for so many years? Why now? It is now, simply because it was not premeditated. If we go back to that confrontational scene, The Lady did not come outright with the accusation. She blurted it out of anger when SP abused the bad blood of Aakash. Second, nowhere did she admit that Aakash is hers and SP's son. She only stated that Aakash is SP's son. Her later demeanor corroborated this fact. When Aakash insisted that he would go after SP because he has a right on his father's wealth, she first tried to emotionally pacify him by saying, "Why do you want to go there? Have I not given enough love? have I not given you both a father's and a mother's love?" She knew she had blundered by letting the cat out of the bag in a moment of anger and defence. She never wanted Aakash to go to SP. If she had, she would have done it long back. What is her motive for silence then? Could it be that she doesn't want her real son's...the son she gave birth to...position and standing in this reputed family jeopardized? A mother would not wish that on her child...that's one area where she becomes selfish. If it comes to it, I believe Yash (assuming it is he) will take precedence over Aakash in her plans of life. She definitely looked uncomfortable when Aakash defiantly insisted on taking his rights, by hook or by crook, and she definitely was ill at ease when the DNA test was announced. She saw the confrontation between Yash and Aakash. She saw how Yash is all out to defend SP against her. She realizes the equation. Now if Aakash's parentage is established, she stands to lose this son as well. Will she then want Yash back? And if she doesn't want Yash's inheritance taken from him, then will she want a place in SP's life? For whatever reasons, she presents herself as a married person and has admitted to Aakash that SP is her husband. Is the latter part a lie then? Because SP is very sure he has no relationship with her...he has been shown as of now to only know her...albeit more personally than normal. Here, another question arises...If Yash is indeed her son, then will she keep quiet when she comes to know the treatment being meted to him and his family as punishment?

Yash has avowed to become a shield for his father. The son who was so wronged and who was pushed away by his father pledges to uphold his honor..."Because of my conduct you have to face this slander, I promise I shall remove this blot. I shall make that lady apologize in front of you." However, what happens if the The Lady in question turns out to be his real mother? This is where adopted versus bloodline issue will arise again...the loyalties will take center stage. Yash's vow and his determination will pave way for his road back into the familyfold. With Aarti helping him, this may yet be their redemption phase for the divorce lie. This is the one chance that has come their way. Yash has always been master of his decisions. Unlike his brothers, he has the guts to make choices and stick by them. He has full confidence in his convictions and as such has the courage to go against the wrong...even if that wrong is by his father. So, when SP went wrong in judging Aarti, Yash stood by Aarti...and now when he feels SP is on the right, he stands between his father and the accusing world.

Yash and Aarti come to know the identity of the kidnapper from Ansh when the latter is answering his sister's queries. That was such a natural bro/sis conversation post kidnapping. Of course, the parents did not interrogate their son because they didn't want to put him through the ordeal once again. However, Yash and Aarti have a minor argument over the issue. When they hear Ansh praising Aakash, Aarti realizes that Ansh is not traumatized, as he should have been, but is his normal self. That could only mean that Aakash really did treat him well...Couple that with Aakash's apparent conduct at the wedding...and Aarti is convinced that he is a good man, albeit gone astray because of circumstances. Sounds familiar? That's our Aarti for you...A man is innocent till proven guilty...and even then she tries to dig for some goodness. On the contrary, Yash is prone to jumping to conclusions. And he does it yet again...when he weighs the facts before him and deems Aakash guilty. As a father and a son, Yash sees no compromise , no let up, in Aakash' conduct. "Aakash kidnapped my son...he and his mother accused my father wrongly...how can there be goodness in them?"

Aakash is very clear what he wants. He is sick and tired of living in abject poverty. As such, when he saw a way out, he grabbed the opportunity...to marry the rich, lame daughter and not only acquire her wealth but also rise in status and stature. When that impromptu plan fell with a thud, another came his way. Once his mother confirmed that SP was indeed his father, there was no stopping him. His mother underestimated his craving for good life...which alone motivated him to seek his rightful place as a rich man's son.

The Scindia family is definitely in a quagmire, although they don't know yet. The lid has been inadvertently blown off a well-kept secret...a secret that may well shake Yash's foundation of existence and compromise his identity and in extension his little family's. So far he and Aarti had dealt with known pasts...Now the storm of an absolutely unexpected, unknown past is heading toward them. Aarti will need all her strength to keep Yash standing when this hits them.

That's it friends. This is the beginning of a brother versus brother and mother versus mother saga...Karan versus Arjun and Devaki versus Yashoda...Sit back and enjoy. I am looking forward to these dramatic twists and turns. 😛

Have a great weekend...😊
