CHAPTER 10:

All were shocked to see both Arjun and Lakhan falling back together. They had shot each other and Choti was close to Lakhan when Arjun shot him. Still it never touched her. She was too shocked to see blood oozing from Arjun's chest.

"BHAI..." She screamed and rushed towards her brother. Sameer and team had seen her rushing and together went towards Arjun.

She knelt down and took her brother's head in her lap. "bhai...bhai...aap teekh tho hai na?? bhai..."

Arjun could feel her hands over his face. But all was too blury that he was feeling it hard to respond back. The pain was numbing his senses. But the feel of his sister near him was heart felt. He opened his eyes to her. Tears were filling her eyes that rolled down her cheek.

He gently placed his hand on her cheeks. "tum... Teekh tho.. haina??..."

She nodded yes and hugged him. Tears were flowing from his eyes too, owing to the pain and also the happiness of having her near him. But he was losing it. she felt his hands moving off her. She looked at him, he was asleep. "bhai... uthiye please..."

Sameer knew that he needed to act fast. He went to Choti. "choti...listen to me.. hame hospital pohonchna hai... jaldi..."

She looked at him blankly and then captured his words. She let Sameer and his team to handle Arjun. Riya went and was holding onto Choti, who was near to hystresis.

Ri: daro math... kuch nahi hoga unhe...

Choti was not in a state to listen to anyone. "please... Unhe kuch hone math dena..."

Ambulance was rushed to the spot and took Arjun to the S.M. Hosptital. He was rushed to OT. Choti, was silent now. That frightened Sameer more. She looked as if lost somewhere.

Riya held wrapped her by the shoulder and sat close to her.

Sameer took his phone and dialed Roshni's number. He was frightened to call her. What would be her reaction??

Ros: hello?? Sameer?? Aap?? Arjun kaha hai?? aur Choti?? Wo teekh tho hai na??

Sam: Roshni relax... Just relax...

Ros: ok. Please batahyiye. I cant contact Arjun. bohot dar lag raha hai. yaha ma- papa ko bhi kuch nahi patha. I cant hold on more Sameer. Please do something. Aur Arjun kaha hai??

Sam: pehle ye bathao kaha ho tum?

Ros: mien?? Ghar me hi hu! Bedroom me. Kyu?

Sam: ok, sit and relax. Ab mien jo bol raha hu, wo aaram se suno. Wo kya hai kee...

Ros: Sameer you are actually scaring me. Aise lag raha hai ke kuch hua hai.

Sam: Roshni, wo.. Choti is back she is fine. Usse ek local gunda ne kidnap kiya tha, kyunki Choti ne ek chotisi ladki ke kidnap hothe hue dekhliya tha. Isiliye. But she is fine.

Ros: thank God. Tho fir Arjun kaha hai?

Sam: it was not an easy task Roshni. Kaafi encounter hua tha. Aur usme Arjun ko... thoda chot laga hai...

Ros: WHAT?? Kaise hai wo?? Aur thoda chot matlab??

Sam: usse goli lagi hai.. aur abhi OT me hai...

Ros: NO... par ye sab kaise?? Wo teekh tho haina?? Sameer. Mujhe waha aana hai.. abhi..

Sam: ok, tumhe ma- papa se bhi baath karni hogi.

Ros: magar kaise? Unhe tho kuch patha bhi nahi.. mien kaise...

Sam: kya papa ghar pe hai?

Ros: ha..

Sam: ok then, phone unhe do.. I'll speak to him...

Roshni goes to the living room. Mom notices that she is crying. "kya hua Roshni? Ro kyu rahe ho?? Aur ye phone kiska hai??" she turns to papa and gives the phone. "Sameer is on line..."

Papa takes the phone and moves a bit away, Roshni hugs mom and cries out, while mom is worried a lot. "Kya hua beta?? Kyu ro rahe ho? Kahi Arjun ko kuch hua tho nahi??"

Papa comes back after cutting te call. "hame Delhi jaana hoga. Sameer will send the flight tickets soon."

Mom: par baath kya hai?

Papa: Arjun ko thoda chot laga hai. wo hospital me hai.

Mom: kya?

Though papa made it sound casual, Sameer had said everything in detail to him. He didn't want to scare the 2 ladies. "ab wo sab chodo. Jaldi thaiyar hojao. Tickets jald hi mil jayega. Sameer will see to that."

Sameer had asked Shree to see to the ticket. And it was ready for them within 2 hours. The flight that was the very next was arranged for them.

Sameer went to Choti, who was near to Riya. Riya looked pleadingly to him, as if to say something to her. He sat by her and took her hands. The team moved a bit away to give them space. But they were constantly watching this new face of their chief. Choti looks at his face.

Sam: dar lag rahe ho?

She nods her head. "kyu?? Tumhare bhai tho bohot strong hai na? fir dar kyu lag rahe ho?"

She was still silent. "tumhe patha hai, agar usse ye patha chala ke tum aise baite ho, tho wo kya kahega... 'meri Choti tho bohot strong hai.. wo kisise nahi dartha.. ab samjhe ya samjhao...'..."

She looks at him with a slight smile, which was covering her fear and tears. As she smiled, she started to break down too. Sameer hugged her, and she covered her face in his shoulder, crying her heart out. He didn't stop her. He wept loudly and he was stocking her hair lovingly... the team too felt upset by this scene. Riya eyes were already overflowing and now Shree's too. Chotu held his shoulder and Shree wiped his tears. Choti was fully broken on Sameer's shoulder. "sh... its ok... He'll be fine..."

Dua tho hai ek chota sa shabd
jiska asar apki zindagi ko nayi
shakti deti hai...
aur unka asar bahut gehra hota hai..

She cried for a while, doctors came out and he made Riya sit with her. He rushed to the doctor.

Sam: kya hua Doc??

Doc: kaafi serious hai!! we need immediate blood. Bullet kaafi gehra ghaav diya hai. aur wo stab bhi.. arrange blood immediately. And yes, unke family ko bhi inform kardo please...

Sam: aap kehna kya chahthe ho??

Doc: see I won't hide to you. Patient ka haal kaafi nazuk hai. its better to call his family ASAP.

He rushed in to the OT, while Chotu went out to arrange blood. Shree went near Sameer. "sir, aap fikar math kijiye. He'll be fine."

Sam was in a shock too. He didn't know how to face Choti now. "Shree...flight kab pohonchenge?"

Sh: after 3 hours sir. I'll go and pick them when they arrive. Aap bas, Choti ka khayal rakhiye.

He went to Choti. "bhai kaise hai? doc ne kya kaha?"

Sam: he'll be fine. Bas toda blood ke zaroorath the. Aur ghar ke sab bi aaraha hai, kuch der mien.

Ch: kya?? Sab aaraha hai?? wo tho dar jayegi!! Ab kya kare??

Sam: don't worry everything will be fine.

But inside he too was frightened.

After a few hours:

The operation was not yet over. Everyone except Choti knew that Arjun was in critical state. She was tired after crying, that she dozed off on Sam's shoulder. He held her tight.

And then Roshni and family rushed into the hospital, with Shree. They rushed near to Sameer, who was holding Choti. On the way they had known that she was missing. When the family came, she woke up. Her mother was hugging her tightly when she saw her. Papa and Roshni went to Sam.

Papa: kaise hai wo Sam?? Doctor ne kya kaha??

Sam said everything that doc had said. Roshni was in a shock now. She could neither speak nor cry. She just sat in the chair.

Riya was looking at her from a distance. She knew, she was in shock. And no word could comfort her now. She thought of leaving her by herself for a while.

After a while, the operation was over. Doc came out. All rushed to him.

Doc: operation is successful. Par kaafi bura ghav hai. he'll need more time to be alright. Next 48 hours are critical for him. I hope uss 48 hours mien wo stable rahe. Warna... it will be a bit difficult.

Ros: kya hum unhe mil sakthe hai??

Doc: ji nahi. He'll be shifted to ICU now, and no visitors for at least 24 hours. Aap baahar se dekh sakthe hai.

He was shifted to ICU. All could only see him from outside the door from the glass window. Everyone was broken to see him in this state.

Roshni was staying at the window, tears rolling down the cheeks. She could feel his hug, his promise, his smile.. and now he was battling for his life...

Riya came to her and placed her hands on Roshni's shoulder. Roshni looked at her with teary eyes. Riya wiped her tears slowly and held her hands.

Ri: bohot pyaar karthe ho na aap unse? (she nods) aur bohot manthe hoge apne bhagwan pe? (she nods again with tears) tho dariye math. Aapke husband ko kuch nahi hoga... wo aapki amaanath hai.. koi bhi usse aapse nahi chinega... I have worked with him for some time... aur uthne waqt me mujhe ithna tho patha chal chukka hai ke wo aapse bohot pyaar karthe hai. bas viswas rakhiye. He'll come back for you...

Roshni couldn't control herself now. She hugged Riya. She could feel all the worry, and Stress in that hug. She held Roshni tightly and allowed her to cry. The family and team were witnessing this. And inside the ICU... Arjun breathed heavily...
